Get OVER IT! Howard Dean was elected by Majority/State Chairs! Even
if Biden/Edwards and (who knows who else is going to come out of the gate trashing Dean in the next months!)

For the FIRST TIME IN 10 YEARS (thanks to Dr. Dean) THE DNC has made a significant contribution to grassroots efforts in this RED STATE of NC and other STATES who are RED!

So, let the DLC and others rage and moan about Dr. Dean. This man is trying to get "WE THE PEOPLE" involved and giving us money that used to go to the "K-Street Crowd" to do so. Maybe that's why Biden and others are mad as hornet's whose nest has been disturbed?

Don't MESS WITH US...DLC says we will STING YOUR BUTTS if you try to "poke that stick at our nest!" :nuke: Mad as hell here..

4. Is it illegal to gather a crowd of say, forty-thousand people --
-- to throw dildos at Republican headquarters?

I'd like to see Ken Mehlman glance out the window of his office to a hail of multi-colored dildos.

best foot forward.

The man is Naziesque. He really is. A bootlicker from the word 'go.' He bows to power, and Rove dishes it out.

I really do not like Republicans.

10. Hi, acmejack. Well, let's gather some volunteers &
see if we can pull this off.

The visual image is very satisfying to me. No bombs, no wounded flesh, no bullets -- no official violence.

Only symbolic. Fake dicks hurled at fake public servants.

3. Not to seem divergent, KoKo, but what about the economy?
There is a chance that it will just tank in the next 3 years.

That's a factor I have often forgot to include in my predictions in my own head, and I ought to have considered it more carefully.

If the economy continues to slide, or tanks outright, and Iraq does not improve or gets worse, the historians will be at the ready to call Dubya THE presidential disaster of all time.

12. Greenspan & fellow Fed Members are going to keep this Bubble going...
right up until 2006 elections. They are pulling out all the stops letting us all go into debt and mortage and re-fi ourselves out of existence. After all, remember the Congress with too many Dems support just passed the "Bankruptcy Bill" meaning that maybe more prisons might be constructed to bump the economy when millions of Americans lose their homes and can pay their debts egged on by Greenspan & Co's Spend, Spend, Spend philosophy of "Shop til You Drop...it's good for the US Economy."

They will pump us until 06. After that I don't think they can hold it all back the implosion.

That's why we need to work now to stop them. They've sucessfully taken over the Media, Courts, and corrupted the Constitution/Bill of Rights...you think they can't keep the economy pumped long enough to secure their "Legacy?" Think they can't put Cox into the SEC to make sure that "crooked companies and Mutual Funds that we with 401-K's rely on now get a pass?

Just this week Arthur Anderson got let off the hook for shredding documents related to Enron. Do you think Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling will EVER see jail time? With Cox on board no other company will ever be held accountable for swindling the average investor who has no other place to invest their money because their company controls what their 401-K's are put into.

And, if he gets Social Security Reform in the next year...you think it will matter about 06?

14. mmm. Dean said NOTHING about the Bankruptcy Bill. Odd
Apparently the Party, including Dean, didn't take a position. Reid voted for it. Dean is as complicit as anyone else.

17. Dean mentioned the Bankruptcy bill
in Atlanta the other night. Criticism of the bill was part of his speech about the right not being the party of family values. I can't remember his exact words, but it was part of the speech.

15. Without significant and large changes to his proposal, Dubya will not
have his "reforms" on social security.

It's dead in the water. Even THE CAT BUTCHER said so publicly, before the White House forced him to recant.

I'm disturbed by Arthur Anderson, too, and must tell you that a very close colleague of mine who is an attorney in Florida wrote to me prior to the Enron revelations and said in effect, "Something odd seems to be going on with Arthur Anderson. Keep an eye on it." She was not working with or around AA at the time, but was a shrewd judge of market activity and how it related to the political forces at hand.

The point is, Enron will also be a consideration in the next coupl of years. Lay is not going to escape penalty in court, IMO. If he should happen to be acquitted, I believe his punishment will be of greater impact than if he'd been found guilty. That is, the negative PR on that for Bush et al will be off the charts.

But truly, I think the economy is the issue I have ignored the most in my political posts on DU, and I think that has been a significant weakness of mine. I should remember the Clinton campaign's addage: "It's the economy, stupid," and keep it in mind more often.

19. By all accounts our "Economy" should have tanked before now...
if you regularly read the great economic posts in DU'es LBN/Market Watch you will see that the "Silent Hand" and "Plunge Protection Team" are manipulating our markets against all the known financial models by using Hedge Funds and Derivatives and interfering in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to keep the Casino going.

It's an intervention unknown in the whole history of economic policy in the US. There are many threads over there...from reputable people so concerned who've been predicting economic crash...and it's yet to come.

Why...because the BFEE controls it all with the Globalists. They will hold and prop us up until they get everything they want and then when it starts it will be in the hands of their successors to clean it up.

But with Conservative judges and the dismantling of the "New Deal" and all our hard one financial stops against the Corportions we will be in this mess for decades.

The Repugs with Dem help have given away the country. And, how long will it take to "re-legislate" the freedoms and market regulations to protect us that have been given away.

That's why we have to PUSH BACK NOW, with ALL WE HAVE. And, that means not letting those involved with giving Bush everything trash the "new people" like Dr. Dean in the process.

20. KoKo01, the economy is not a controlable force, or it's not a
very EASILY controlled force. Something like certain conditions that can be treated but not cured. The smartest people on Wall Street didn't know on a certain Monday in 1929 that they'd be jumping to their deaths out of tall buildings after the market crashed.

There are no sure things in economics. Ever.

Bush as as prone to market forces and pure chance as Clinton or anybody else.

Signs are not especially favorable for the economy to improve, and if Bush is in office when it goes sour, history tags him with the Herbert Hoover Award.

He will be an abject and inarguable failure.

not that he isn't already!

8. Slow news day?
How many threads do we need to have on this issue? I don't recall anyone trashing Dean and that includes Edwards and Biden. What did they say that it causing you so much distress? Jeez. Lighten up. (Maybe my definition of 'trashing' is different than yours?)

They disagreed with a silly little comment made by Dean. Why the need to drag this subject on and on and on and on and on and on and on?????

maybe if you do a little reading before mouthing off you would understand what this is all about. :-)'s to you.

If you didn't have time...then why jump onto my thread which was directed at those who understand this ISN'T a "slow news day" when the Elected Chairman of the Democratic Party is being dissed by his own fellow Democrats and the MSM is thrilled and egging it all on?

13. Inspired, I tried to PM you but the software won't let me.
Please accept a welcome from one of many thousands of DUers.

I hope to run into you again on these boards to get your insights on how things are in Iowa as the next couple years unfold. At the moment, you Iowans are still going to be first in the primary/caucus schedule.

On your point here in this post about how many such threads we need: I'm trying to hang with the party generally and not with the infighting factions within it. They're valid in and of themselves, but I agree with you that there's a hint of bigger fish to fry.

A visual image: large skillet with fish in it -- several fish -- all frying hot and sizzly -- but instead of regular fish heads, one has Dubya's head, another has Rumsfelds, etc. Those are the fish I think we need to clean and fry.

Wel, again a welcome. Hope to run into you again on DU.

33. Thank you!
I am excited about 2008. It is great living in Iowa and I don't think our first in the nation caucus will change, at least for 2008. The campaign really has already started. I am involved in the Iowa Democratic Party and I have already attended events with potential candidate(s). I will definately keep you, and others, informed on how I see things shaping in Iowa.

The Democratic Party isn't going to come crashing down because of one misstatement by Dean or because Edwards and Biden didn't agree with it. OH, and I have read pages upon pages on this subject...I'm many things but uninformed is not one of them.

Just as you say, I think there are more pressing issues to worry about. That is all.
