Clinton's Iraq War stance on Larry King bothered me.
Clinton just seemed to want to set aside the build up to war by the Bushies,
by implying it was time to move on and just get this thing done right.

Eloquence aside, where does this leave Clinton and the ground war we are fighting right for the full disclosure to the build up to war?

I just wanted to yell at the TV....."go home to Chapaqua, or better yet, attend a few military funerals."

1. He's rationalizing his own policy..
of bombing and starving Iraqi children for 8 years. If Bush is right, then he must be right?

6. Clinton actually mentioned that he was against the inspectors leaving
Iraq until their investigation was complete. I think he was more interested in the Iraq thing getting to a solution somehow. Saying that you have to follow through. I think he also mentioned that a president doesn't get to study and discuss war (?) with others. War is a decision he pretty much has to make on his own. And that Presidents can be wrong. He pointed out that insurgencies are always tough. And that the reason why George Bush Sr. didn't go into Iraq (when all the evidence of Saddam Hussein's horrors were fresh) was because they were all terrified of destabilizing the area. I think he included himself in those examples.

His wife is running. I guess if he sticks close to Bush on War policy it makes it hard for the GOP machine to criticize his record and label his wife as a flip-flopper.

Said some strange normalizing things about Rove.

7. WTF is the 'solution'?
I have had it with the theory that we have to kill lots more iraqis until we've 'fixed' the problem we created. This is just more nonsense being muttered to confuse people. We intend to occupy iraq because it is a strategic asset in the oil wars. We intend that occupation to be permanent.

8. I agree that there will be permanent bases in ME until the oil is all gone
But it also looks to me like even in Iraq the people there are organizing a bit to make sure Oil policy benefits them and not Big Oil.

Chalabi is not god. I don't see him lasting very long. The people with any power in Iraq (Iraqis) have shown and independent streak.

May be that neocons really do not end up with control of the markets there .. and that they just sit in bases to ensure 'democracy' which means no inter-arab extremist Islamist political movement to get control of each Arab nation.

11. So hillary is going to leave her
Senate post in New York to run even though she says she isn't?

I can see her campaign in 2006 will be all about denials of not running for prez in 2008.

2. At the "top level" there is agreement on corruption and an agenda
which I fear is "no good" for Americans...

Clinton and others (like the media) are not demanding the truth when it comes to corruption and accountability.... this is all you need to know.

4. Clinton is the last person on my list of who to blame for this quagmire.
There are many many ahead of him.

5. Hillary voted for the IWR, so Bill has "get in the middle" on this one
I saw the interview last night. I agree with your point. I can't see Bill speaking at the next A.N.S.W.E.R. rally on the mall at the corner of 14th and Constitution Avenues.

9. Why are you surprised?
I frankly will never understand the people on this board who think that their Democratic "heroes" hold the exact same position as you.

Clinton bombed the shit out of Iraq for 8 years.

Clinton nearly invaded Iraq in '98 but...ironically...didn't have enough Republican support then.

Clinton enforced the sanctions that killed at least half a million Iraquis.

Clinton signed the law that made regime change in Iraq official US policy.

Clinton has said that he had the same intelligence that Bush had and interpreted it the same way.

And Hillary Clinton eagerly voted for the IWR.

So....um...what is the issue again?

10. Your points duly noted.....it looks like we have to do this on our own.
Along with John Conyers of course.
