9. Bull crap
I agree that the major corporate media outlets are on a short leash, but I don't buy this defeatist view.

We are the new media and must keep a positive outlook. We must build relationships with the reporters and editorial boards of small and medium sized outlets. We must establish relationships with Congressional staffers and keep information channels open. We must provide information to "our" media like Bradblog, Raw Story, Truthout; in return we must share what is presented here and at those blogs to our networks. We must build our grassroot networks and elect progressive candidates.

I will not buy into the nay-sayers, I will fight as long as I have strength.

19. We must build relationships with... small and medium sized outlets.
When the small-town media influence their readership and viewership, Shrub will wonder where all his support went. And the so-called "liberal media" will wonder why the small-town media went anti-Bush all of a sudden!

(Of course, FauxNews, Excrement In Broadcasting and their ilk will never desert the Commander Cuckoo-bananas-in-thief.);-)

3. The most we can expect is a minor scapegoat.
Bush, Cheney, Rove, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Rice...every single one of them will walk away in 2009 without a scratch.

They'll have lucrative book deals, ass-loads of money on the lecture circuit, and lots and lots of Halliburton blood money to keep them warm at night.

I've said this before:

I give my solemn WORD that if I'm wrong, I'll publicly eat my words on DU.

Until then, I'm sticking with the "not a scratch" theory.

26. Jeez....
Jeez, Jeez. I hope that you are wrong in a HUGE, SUPER-SIZED way. I really don't know - in a reality-based country, they would all at least be indicted, but Amurika today is so Hannitized, Rushed, Iraq-ed and Bushwhacked that your crystal ball could be right.

My crystal ball is rose-tinted, however. Without it I think I'd go crazy.

OK, crazier.

11. Ain't Sayin' It'll Be Easy
Cracks are beginning to emerge. If Representative Conyers can obtain 10,000,000 petition signatures, we'll be on to something. The fact that thousands if not tens of thousands of veterans will protest the war and the lies is significant, too.

13. We should never lose hope!
Its what they want. Lets not give them what they want. The grass roots movement is bigger than than anyone could possibly imagine. It will grow and grow until its impossible for the MSM to ignore. Already, news papers are overrun by letters. Yes, they ignore most of it, but they know the people are mad and are getting madder. Even many of the religious are switching sides, away from the hate-mongering.

Please....lets not give them what they want. With no hope, there's no motivation and effort. We need hope. Just look:

*In what....3 days, Conyers reaches his goal (its unprecendented).
*Now we have liberal radio taking off in the ratings!
*You have activism every day on every front.

Just think....deep throat did what he did because Nixon pissed him off by appointing a crooked loyalist. How many people has "W" done this to? How many times can he go after the intelligence community or go after the press, before they decide they've had enough of this guy? Even the Washington post (owner of Newsweek) shot across their bow (by publishing a story on the DSM an calling it a bomb with a long fuse).

Its gotta happen.

22. Sorry to say, but no
These crooks have been mired in the most egregious scandals one can think of: dealings with Enron, the outing of undercover CIA agents, the smearing of war heros, the loss of over $9billion, the launch of a war based on what later turned out to be a complete lie. And even more than that.

Bush could prance around the White House lawn naked with a bong in his hand and still retain office, his power is so secure.

44. Yep...Untouchable
The amount of evidence that has been uncovered regarding this corrupt administration is overwhelming, yet the only place you can read about it is on the net or sources from other countries. And you know we're all conspiracy theorist nut cases who hate America. :eyes: We can agitate, yell fire, scream from the rooftops, but it falls on deaf ears (except of course those of the choir). I'm convinced that the only thing that will force the media to take notice is a massive march on Washington.

They will be totally disgraced and will be wrenched from the wheel of power after their last term is up, but they will serve out this and however many more terms it takes for reality to catch up.

History will revile this bunch, but they're gonna get to strut and fret their full alotted time on the stage. Dammit.

43. I think we can count on that
Of course, history is written by the winners, and these thugs are going for total, absolute control. Even if they succeed, they can't for ever. It may just be our lifetimes that are darkened by totalitarianism, it may be those of our kids too, but their policies DON'T WORK and they can't hide reality forever.

George W. Bush will be hated and ridiculed by all, and denied by the right wing. May he live to be a hundred and twenty.

Not that I blame any of you, not a bit. But this poll caught me in a moment of faith. Not in God, not in the Dems in Congress, nor in any exterior investigation, but in

the American people!!

They're waking up, I feel it. The harder the Republican hot air blows, the less control they have.

It's down to us, the good people of this country, who put being American before anything else and have always fought for justice when push comes to shove. We outnumber freeps and fristians and fascist Bushbots any ol' day of the week. Always have, always will.

And it won't be scandal. It'll be straight out impeachment of the entire Bush**/neocon cabal, with a one-way ticket for all to JAIL.

It's coming. It'll happen. BELIEVE IT.

42. To lose hope is despair; don't go there.
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 07:44 AM by Donna Zen
But there is a difference between hope and optimism.

Thus while I am not optimistic, I hold on to hope.

John Dean writes in "Worse Than Watergate" that there are three ingredients necessary to produce a scandal: the crime, the cover-up, and outrage by the press. The first two have surfaced repeatedly; the third would appear to have become extinct.
