2. And
he's the only senator who voted against the Patriot Act. If he runs and makes it through the primaries he has my vote.

3. As a Feingold supporter and voter,
I'm also a radical pragmatist and will refrain from stating the obvious.

11. The obvious has nothing to do with his politics, it's his marital status
Russ gets votes from Republicans in Wisconsin because of his "maverick" image. He's also pretty far from the center on gun control, which appeals to a lot of conservatives. Personally I'd argue that he's just as electable as Warner or Bayh if not more because the base loves him as well.

And although his marital status is a stupid issue, it is a serious one because Presidents are almost always married.

21. The way I see it
The people who won't vote for him because he's unmarried are the same people who wouldn't vote for him because he's Jewish, or because he supports baby murder and the militant homosexual agenda

22. I seriously hope that you're right
But I think that there are a lot of shallow people who are not necesarilly Republicans, but just won't vote for somebody who is unmarried.

23. I don't think that's true
I think the biggest disdvantage Russ may face if his marital situation stays the same from now till 2008 is he won't have a wife helping him. We all saw how much Kerry/Edwards utilized Elizabeth Edwards and if/when John Edwards runs again health perimitting you know Elizabeth is gonna be front and center again. We all saw how much Laura helped Dumbya. I think in that respect it could hurt him, but the people who wouldn't vote for him because he's unmarried wouldn't have voted for him for the reasons I stated above.

...much in the same way Wellstone's were. Russ' are done by a small-but-primo Milwaukee advertising agency.

5. Right now, I am not for anyone.... But,
Russ should vote more like a democrat.

The only true measure of our Democrats is how they vote on bills on the Senate floor.

As me father use to say, 'talk is cheap - it takes money to buy whiskey'. Or, 'votes talk - bullshit walks'.

better voting records *this* year than Russ. I looked at TomPayne http://patrickhenrythinktank.org/sen-scores.html to see how they scored.

Please realize, like I said, I am not for nor against anyone yet.

My point is that ALL Dems should VOTE LIKE A DEM.

20. How many of the above senators voted no on the Patriot Act?
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 11:14 PM by Hippo_Tron
How many of the above Senators voted no on the Iraq War Resolution? How many of the above senators consistantly voted no on trade agreements that screw over American workers? How many of the above senators stood up against the bankruptcy laws back in the late 90's that had huge support. How many of the above Senators voted against DOMA? How many of the above Senators actually give every single member of their constituency a chance to talk with them once every year?

I don't give a shit if the Patrick Henry club defines "voting like a democrat" as whether they vote in accordance with the Patrick Henry club's principles on a few select votes from 2005.

Russ stood up at times when most of these guys didn't have the balls to. Anybody who says that Russ isn't a real Democrat is sadly mistaken.

Oh yea, I forgot. How many of the above Senators are about to question Blair on the Downing Street Memo?

26. What a crackpot website.
This is his 3rd term in the Senate and you're judging how good a Democrat he is based on 10 votes? Maybe you should look at his record from the 107th and 108th Congress and you'll truly understand what kind of Democrat he is. He was the ONLY Senator to oppose the Patriot Act. Not Boxer. Not Kennedy. Not Harkin. Just Feingold

29. Every single Senator
No matter how good they are has votes that people weren't satisfied with. Nobody's perfect, but very few senators uphold Democratic ideals more often than Russ Feingold.

Opposed to NAFTA, only Senator to vote against the Patriot Act, opposed war in Iraq, opposed No Child Left Behind, the list goes on and on. In the future, try not to make ignorant statements.

27. Thanks for your advice for not making 'ignorant statements"..
If you read my posts, my point is that a TRUE DEMOCRAT will ALWAYS VOTE like A DEMOCRAT. I have NOTHING against MR. Finegold.

However, a true Patriot and a true Democrat ALWAYS votes democratically.

Once again, "put your money where your mouth is". "Talk is cheap....".

And, Mr. Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, also brought up the Downing Street Minutes. (this may be in response to another poster - I'll post it here).

My point - "consistency". A true Patriot of the America Democracy ALWAYS votes like a DEMOCRAT. ALL 100 Senators voted for the $83 Billion for Iraq (you know - the illegal war for oil and for the WAR PROFITEERS) AND the REAL ID act. (So, Mr. Fiengold and ALL other Senators want to TRACK US).

Once again, I am not for nor against ANY potential candidate for 2008 - I am WORRIED ABOUT how our GOVERNMENT is FUCKING us over. ONLY TEN REPS is the HOUSE are voting like a Democrat.

"TALK IS CHEAP - IT IS THE VOTING THAT COUNTS"

Please don't counter with an "ignorant statement".
