MSNBC ATTACKS DEAN AGAIN--LET' RESPOND ASAP!!
:bounce:

LET'S RESPOND ASAP!!at: Letters@msnbc.com

If MSNBC would get as interested in the Downing Street Memo as it is interested in attacking Dean we would be getting somewhere:

Here is the link to the story:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8122027/

And here are the actual facts posted here on DU Archives(2 Jun 05) posted by stampy52:

_____________________________________________

A quick look at actual FEC reports shows that Dean has raised more money in an off year than any DNC Chair in history.
First Quarter of 2005 - $16.7 million
Q1/2004 - $28.7 million
Q1/2003 - $8.7 million
Q1/2002 - $11.8

And Dean is on pace to break the midyear fundraising of $23.7 in the first six months of 2001.

1. I sent this email to Matthews tonight
Your attacks are Howard Dean with your panel reminds me of a group of immature kids snickering and attacking someone behind their back. Did your nastiness make you feel more like a man? This sure brought your viciousness to the surface, didn't it. People can't understand why you don't report real news and I've been trying to tell them how bias and nasty you are towards anybody who speaks the truth about the incredibly dangerous direction our country is headed. Dean speaks the truth and loudly. Instead of attacking the messenger, why don't you come up with actual facts to support your side? Why don't you do a story on how Rush Limbaugh has been attacking the dignity of liberals for years now? He insults me every time I hear him.

Your attempts to attack Dean is only exposing you. Why don't you report on something critical to the people, like the Downing Street Memo? People are continuing to die because of this fraud and you're attacking the honest guy!

I couldn't be any more disgusted.

4. Here is mine, like it matters any more
Hey boys here is a REAL story you don't have the cojones to cover, as this one also implies oh Constitutional issues and impeachment... Downing Street Memo...

So how about we stop attacking Dean, covering run away brides and kids in Aruba and for once COVER a real news story... Downing Street Memo...

Oh I forgot the war is really nice for you guys... after all you are owned by GE.... and we all know GE brings good wars to life.

Oh and I don't bother being nice any longer, nor do I bother watching, for the most part... or gee golly buying GE goods.

2. My email.
Dean is right! Repukes are too busy stealing from slave laborers to get a life of ambition at any work! Dean speaks for Democrats! Disenfranchised people calling themselves republicans really aren't repukes if they vote for a Democrat. They were just temporarily confused and made a horrible mistake. For that we will forgive them and welcome them back! Lay OFF Howard Dean!

11. Thank you too. Perhaps you would like this article by Dave Sirota
:patriot:

I thought this article by Dave Sirota was one the best "fair and balanced" article about the good Doctor:

8. My letter
A little too strong, perhaps?

The problem with your over coverage of and over reaction to Howard Dean's recent hyperbole, mingled with half truths and disinformation, merely serves to further establish what many of us already know. You are corporate media, bought and paid for by your masters, of whom George Bush has said: "Some people call you the elite. I call you my base!"

In the meantime our treasury is plundered, the truth of many matters is obscured from the American people, lives are being uselessly spent, and the country's mood acknowledges this nation's downward spiral ... a descent you and your colleagues have unfortunately chosen to facilitate.

History will judge you ... the American right wing corporate media ... harshly. Much of the free world already does.

9. Mine:
Hi,

Since "the scream" in which Howard Dean's context appropriate communication was mic'd and amplified without background noise, then repeated endlessly as if it mattered at all instead of the real news, I have lost faith in you. When you canceled Phil Donahue and put right wing hatemongers on the air, it was evident that you are not reporting the news, but manufacturing public opinion with propaganda designed to put and keep one party in power. You have almost completely failed to report adequately on the important matters that will affect Americans profoundly in coming years, such as the tax cuts for the megarich, our ballooning national debt owned by Communist China, the B.S. hype to mislead America into war IN WHICH YOU ARE CULPABLE through failing to actually inform the people of the truth that weapons inspectors were very sure there were no WMD, and many other genuinely important matters that would be covered were you actually reporting the news.

By continually bashing Howard Dean, interviewing him with hostility, selecting the few things he says that could be interpreted negatively and repeating them over and over as if they mattered while IGNORING the main and important points he articulates brilliantly that DO matter, you are abdicating the responsibility that comes with your job. Don't you realize you only make a living because working people can buy products, whose makers advertise with you? You will not see much money when we are all broke, which seems to be the objective of the current resident of the white house whose butt you guys just never stop kissing.
As a result I and many millions of other Americans who love our country and mourn the rise of government of, by, and for the corporations have and will continue in greater numbers to TURN YOU OFF.

There is no point in trying to be Faux News II. Were you to rise to the challenge and actually report the news again we would be back pronto.
In the meanwhile you should at least change your logo to GOPNEWS. If you want to be a news station for the least informed half of the American population then please continue to air bullshit.

Democracy depends on an informed electorate. You are failing to do your duty to the American people by choosing not to report real news. If you decide to start giving the American people the service you pretend to, so that our people can take part in real democracy again, we will be back.

With profound sadness at your failure but hope for a change of heart,

(my name)
Honolulu, Hawaii

(That is if you don't lose your license in the meanwhile. The airwaves do still belong to the people of this country, never forget it. )

ps I nominated this for greatest page because I want MSNBC to be barraged with comments. Plus I like your action oriented post.
