Oh, me too. But I wonder... how long before complete knee-biters like Daily Kos, DU, etc. are claiming Dean is actually a Karl Rove plant?

God bless Howard Dean. He's doing to the Dems what our GOP leadership could only dream of possibly inflicting on them.

It is my fervent hope that Howard Dean stays at the DNC helm for as long as possible. We couldn't ASK for a better Republican recruiting tool.

Thanks, Howie!!

1. This is GOOD.
First, Dean is running for anything. He is the head of the party, not a candidate. He is SUPPOSED to piss off the right. That is his job.

He seems to be doing a bang-up job. He'd do even better if Joe Biden would shut the fuck up.

7. Pissed off was the wrong choice of words...
This is backwards, remember. If THEY think Howard Dean is being nasty and mean, it is a good thing for us. That is the point. We DON'T WANT a party head who is always reaching out and being conciliatory, as Daschle always was. They are tickled pink because they think WE are upset about Dean's comments thanks to Joe Biden. Joe may be, but WE are not. It just shows that they are clueless. Let them be quiet and "support" Dean because they think he'll help them. That would be great!

9. Deans' already beat back expectations; doing good work organizing
They can go do what they do late at night when they switch from their political service to something a little, how shall I say, more intimate on the internet.

The first CM (corporate media) and right wing expectation of Dean was that he'd be a perpetual embarrassment for us by mouthing off all the time. Well, he's building state parties, alliances, and good will, not to mention, real grass roots capacity. He needed to "get out of the office" and talk to us, the Democrats. That was both productive for our efforts and set to rest the first expectation.

Now he tells them a little truth and they're all a twitter. Who cares?
Not me.

I support Howard Dean's DNC efforts. Just one thing Howard, and you better take it seriously, make sure our votes count.

11. Fundraisers jilt Dean. Three top fundraisers at the DNC resigned
The committee’s finance directors for the two biggest hubs of Democratic fundraising have quit. Bridget Siegel, finance director for New York and the surrounding area, resigned last week, and Lori Kreloff, finance director for California, left the committee last month.
A third top DNC fundraiser, Nancy Eiring, the director of grassroots fundraising, has also resigned, citing strategic differences with aides to Dean, according to a report yesterday in ABC News’ “The Note.”

What should we make of this development?

12. Dean's weaning the party of the corporate tit
Some people don't like it, especially old fundraisers, but it's a good thing. A party for the people, not special interests and corporate lobbyists.

16. This is worrying me.
I read this coupled with Russell Simmons saying he was meeting with some Republican leader because Howard Dean was not focused enough on helping the African American Party and can not be bothered with it. That coupled with Bono, of all people, saying how focused George Bush is, and how clever. How Bush is really focused on the African plight. We are losing high profile PR, while insulting many of the battleground states composed of white Christians.

21. show me where Bono says so. I attended a conference
where he spoke in Portland last year. He hates Bush but couldn't say it directly because he was still working with him.

you're full of it with your line.

Yep, because Dean is targeting the GOP for what they are, the black people in this country are going to revolt and go to....the GOP. Right.

Let's just set up the circular firing squad NOW, people!

After five years, have we learned NOTHING about the ways of the GOP? We're succeeding, once again, at allowing them to frame our message for us.

STOP IT, GODDAMMIT!

25. Anybody who thinks Bush is "focused on the African plight,"
or is offended by Dean when he tells the truth, isn't likely to vote Democratic no matter what.

Let's not forget what a love-fest the RNC convention was, or how soothing the rhetoric of Tom Delay and Bill Frist have been... Republicans never insult liberals, women, minorities, gays & lesbians, non-Christians, or anybody who disagrees with them. :sarcasm:

19. That's routine. Lots of Dems were pleased Bush ran in 2000
who figured Bush would make Republicans look bad. Same thing about Delay when he first rose to power (he may be costing them a few points now, but he whipped their caucus into shape). Same thing about the Christian Right. If we find it easy to hate someone in the opposition, it is so tempting to think that most Americans see them the same way we do and that they must be a liability to the other side. Problem is they often aren't. Republicans hate Dean and make him out to be a loose cannon. We make Bush out to be a stupid Chimp. Neither is true. It is very common to underestimate your opponent.

24. The problem I see is
even though the Pukes own all 3 branches of government the public will think of them as the "victims" with this kind of rhetoric. Of course we love it, because, well, he's RIGHT. But I'm afraid we're losing the PR war and we need to bring more people in not alienate them.
