Cause Of Death Still Unclear

WASHINGTON -- An officer from Dallas has died in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Defense Department Tuesday announced the death of Col. Ted Westhusing, 44, who had been a West Point professor.

Westhusing died Sunday in Baghdad from non-combat related injuries, U.S. military officials said.

Further details weren't immediately released.

However, his family said they've been notified that Westhusing was killed in action.

11. That tells me everything I need to know about Biden...
...who, by the way, is taking a fall on Bolton, in,spite of that bastard's treasonous interference in pre-war intelligence on Iraq.

16. Just wait 24 hours
Someone in one of these threads will propose that Biden be on the Dem ticket in '08. And...and... if you disagree, well, you just don't get the rough and tumble world of politics. (so I've been told.)

Hillary's AIPAC speech? No biggie. Count the threads here this evening. Warning: any discontent makes one a "hater."

I "get" politics just fine; and politics as usual is why we are where we are. That's what I get.

Anyone who voted bush a blank check is either too damn dumb to be president, or worse yet, like Biden, too fucking cynical. Period. They will not ever get a vote from me in recognition of what a fine job they have done.

And WelshTerrior2: If you are around, the answer to your thread of a few evenings ago: publically financed campaigns. It is the only thing that will change the direction. If interest groups want to advertise: fine, if they list their sources of $$$ at the end of the their infomercials.

I miss Paul Wellstone more everyday.

17. How about 100% public financing and strictly-controlled equal access...
...to the airwaves, with advocacy groups (like the Swiftliars) being required to suspend their activities for a specific number of months before elections?

20. which thread ??
hi donna zen ... not sure which of my threads your remarks about publically financed campaigns refer to ...

i strongly support the idea of publically financed campaigns ... in fact, if i were "king of the forest", my campaign reforms would go way beyond that ...

changes would include ideas like candidates having to speak for themselves, no fancy videos, free time from the networks, far more access for minor parties to debates, numerous mandatory debates, and probably many other ideas ... yeah, i know, i won't hold my breath ...

10. Checking the facts:

Americans are horrified at the attacks inflicted by the unscrupulous terrorists upon ordinary people," he said.

Terrorists...terrorists...terrorists.

What? Anyone they don't like and who doesn't like them is a terrorists.

Americans don't even know about one fourth of the attacks, or why there are attacks because another blonde is missing and hey, Michael Jackson is losing weight.

^^^^^^^^^^

Democrats and Republicans on the committee voiced support for Khalilzad, who they said has done a top job overseeing elections and reconstruction in Afghanistan. Before that he was an aide to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and a consultant for U.S. oil company Unocal Corp.

By all means Dems and repubs, vote for this shit head because Afghanistan is now the stuff that dreams are made of. Unocal...Unocal... rings a few bells whistles and pipelines.

Isn't it time we held a few people accountable? Or should we just shut up and vote for people who cynically voted for this shit? Is that what all those Hillary and Bayh threads are all about. Just sit down and shut up?

13. just my 2 cents ...
personally, i'd rather see you write a letter to him calling for withdrawal from Iraq ... all this intra-party squabbling over nonsense won't be news in another day or two ...

but, since you asked, here are a couple of links you should bookmark:

Project Vote Smart lets you look up all sorts of things about politicians: http://www.vote-smart.org

and here's a direct link to Biden that includes contact info:
