Poll question: Is this whole Dean thing pre-planned? |
|
I'm thinking this has all been pre-arranged. What do you think?

2. All planned, and more importantly it's working |
|
The media and the repukes have no idea they're being played like suckers. Dean is a genius.

3. Would someone care to expound on the strategy? |
|
I mean, there are six of you already, right? Can one of you give - in a compelling fashion, one which will cause me to walk away believing you - an explanation of how this incident, pursued in this fashion rather than some other fashion, how his exact words spoken exactly as they are, is the best possible way of getting us a victory in 2006?

6. To give you an example of something not compelling... |
|
...this poll should illustrate. 87 people said they could not prove their argument, and 22 people said they could but still chose not to. That is an example of "not compelling". http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1781615

9. lozoccolo - im with you. i dont at all get why people think these |
|
SPECIFIC comments by dean are (or should be) part of any strategy that helps us win anything. dean frankly has a history of saying things (confederate flag) that get in the way of the overall wonderful message that he is working hard to get out there. kinda like kerry. he can say some powerful things that need saying then the next thing you know he is diluting the whole effect by explaining or retracting or revising any number of statements.
and i dont at all agree that any press is good press. or with those saying that we wouldnt even be in the news in the past week so at least this is coverage ugh
and just for the record. that whole dean scream thing was a complete and manufactured travesty so i dont for one second count that in any of his missteps. i really admire dr dean. he has worked like no one else and this party and country need him desperately. but when i see him on chris matthews talking against michael moore ( re f 9/11) and when i hear him say that we need to stay in iraq and hopes this policy is successful i just cringe. this man is outstanding but honestly he has a pattern of saying things that i dont understand.
so in short - he confuses me. we need him (or anyone) so terribly that i think sometimes we build him up so far that when he falters (and he has on more than one occasion) then perhaps we choose to look away and not hold him to the same standards as others.
i dont have the answers of course. these are just my feelings

4. I've been thinking about that possibility. |
|
It sure is a way to get FREE press coverage, and point out the flaws in the Pubs at the same time! He sure hasn't backed down on any of his comments every time I've seen any talking head question him about what he's said.
Initially, I got very upset with the MSM for hammering Dean, but as the days go on, and each day, he seems to throw them some new red meat, I wonder if it is preplanned. His most recent comment just might make people think "Gee, maybe he's right!"

5. I voted "other" because I think this is non-news spread by a MSM spin |
|
machine that is trying desperately to ignore the Downing Street Memo. They look for silly quotes and try to make news out of it. If Democrats really ran the MSM, we'd be hearing on CNN about every stupid comment Bush made, especially the recent "propaganda" comment.

Would ANY other Democrats be given the air time they've had in the last 24 hours?

8. No. It is just Dean telling it like it is in no uncertain terms. |
|
Though, I read some "Dems" saw it as an opportunity to appeal to moderates by distancing themselves from Dean based on Dick Morris advice to Clinton to triangulate with the Right and diffuse the Right's bullying.
Listening to sleazy Dick Morris is what done brung us here--because it is a strategy that could only be cooked up by someone without principles--an approach that resonated with the slickness of Clinton's character.
