"THE ERASER" is a Gift to Dems
The election of Arnold "star power" Schwarzenegger in California was a sad moment. It was clear he was a fool, a liar, a sexual abuser.

But apparently someone with great movie presence appealed to lotsa Californians, liberal, moderate, and conservative.

But his election was really a gift for the Democratic Party. For years, Reagan was the paradigm for the new Republican pol. Stupid, but photogenic with good lines, both in a faded movie career ("Where's the rest of me?") and in the presidency ("the evil empire" - or was that from Star Wars?). He was evidence that such men (forget women, they are just window dressing in today's GOP) can become great. (NOTE: the writer believes Reagan's 8 years to have been an unmitigated disaster, presided over by the most demented man since the last year or 2 of the Wilson presidency. But much of the population disagrees). He was lucky that people forgot that the Commies fell BECAUSE OF years of Dem containment policy, and DURING the terms of other presidents.

But, now that has all changed. Ah-nold's charisma is in the toilet. Have we heard much lately about the need to amend the US Constitution so he can be president? California is a state in decline: screwed by Washington for being Democratic, and screwed again because of the export of good jobs overseas and the policy disasters of Herr Bush. And guess who is gonna get the (well deserved) blame? Yep, the steroid governor.

BUT - the next time a GOP face man is put up for ANY office, we can say: "Well, he'll be just like Ah-nold. Big promises, big failures. Look at California - into the dumpster. What did he ever do, except try to screw cops, firefighters, and nurses?"

Arnold starred in a movie once called The Eraser (NOTE: the writer has really liked most of Arnold's movies, trash though they were). We need to make this his new nickname - since he loves to use his movies as part of his persona.

THE ERASER! of tens of thousands of jobs
THE ERASER! of the promises he made
THE ERASER! of decency in the governor's office
THE ERASER! (insert message here)

So, here's a post-workday toast to THE ERASER - and goodbye to the Gipper as an example of a Gopper.

2. Yeah, but I think Arnold of all people being voted in was because...
...he was a movie star.
