Question about Colin Powell on the Daily Show....

What was the purpose of his visit to the show? most guest come on to sell a book or promote a new movie, or similar. None of the standard reasons seem to apply to Powell's visit.

Is there a motive? For whom, and why?

2. That was the first question I had

I have no idea why he was on. No book was pushed, no movie to sell. I don't get it. I can't imagine he would be a fan of The Daily Show but then again, I couldn't imagine him lying to the UN either so what the hell do I know. :shrug:

...and he probably called up Jon and said "Why don't I come on" at which point Jon wet himself. Not realizing that Colin had been told to come on and discredit the DSM.

he's a big name and that's what Jon needs. I just wish Jon had stood up to him a little more.

and being the masters of lies and propaganda, I figure Rove came up with this plan to get Powell (who still for some unknown reason carries respect) and dumb down the DSM. Which he did....um, he lied some more.

That was my take too that there was some agenda from 1600 to address. Kinda smelled Karl Rove in it but don't see the motive.
