3. I think the live and let live line

is that Dean, as DNC Chair, is an important spokesperson for the Democratic Party, not THE spokesperson on each and every item. That really is how it should be seen. Dean wasn't elected to think for all Democrats, our Party has room for differing opinions and a number of voices, but Howard has an important one, for which I personally am thankful. Anyone who tries to pretend that Dean is a glorified bookkeeper and stenographer for the Party deserves to be blasted for it. Dean is one of our Party leaders, and the only one elected by all Democrats, through our local parties, to a position of leadership.
