Jewish Republican's response to Dean -- anyone have a link?
I heard a Jewish Republican from the House quoted on the news on AAR today, but I didn't get the guy's name. What he said was that Dean had been "dismissive of tens of thousands of Jewish Republicans."

Could he say anything better to prove Dean's point? Imagine -- tens of thousands of Jewish Republicans. That means you could probably fit them all in an NFL stadium and still not sell it out.

I'd love to find that quote so I can hold it up for ridicule.

2. So let me understand this
Are Republicans claiming there is no fundie movement on the right that wants total control of all social issues in our lives and schools? Hell, there are probably black, gay Jewish voters in the Republican party. That doesn't mean that fundies aren't out to take over.

3. It is not Dean that is dismissive of jewish Republicans
It is the Republicans. The GOP is 82% white and self-identify as "christian". And the GOP are the ones trying to legislate their strange brand of religion which doesn't seem very pluralistic or jewish.

4. His Name is Eric Cantor
He's my congressman, :puke: . I've been told if you look at his resume you wouldn't even know he was Jewish. This is his 15 minutes of fame.

Isn't it amazing that when the Repugs say they have black representation, nobody comes out and makes a big deal of their minimal black representation, but Cantor, the Repug, is right out there.

Like I said, his 15 minutes of fame.

5. Here you go!
Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor, who's Jewish, calls Dean's remark "hateful" and dismissive of "tens of thousands of Republican Jews across America."

Some prominent Democrats have distanced themselves from Dean's comments.

But on N-B-C's "Today" show, Dean defended his characterization of the Republican Party, insisting that the G-O-P has "the agenda of the conservative Christians."

10. So, do the numbers...
Let's see, 10s of thousands...let's say 100-thousand or so, just to be generous. And how many total registered Republicans? I think 44.8 million registered Republicans in 2000. Wow, that's close to 22/100ths of a percent of the Republican Party!

Man, they're taking over there, eh? Pretty soon, they'll be just like Hollywood!

16. Do you doubt that the moneyed class, the true ruling elite that controls
the politicians, the media, the wars isn't bamboozling the rank & file 'pubs?

They would be fools not to.

15. In light of the truth of Dr. Deans remarks
I would hope all "jewish republicans" do some serious soul searching.

Bill Frist would be the first one to tell them they are going to hell for being Jewish.

17. Press Release He Issued
Cantor Statement on Howard Dean’s Recent Comments

Washington, D.C. – Chief Deputy Majority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement today regarding Howard Dean’s recent statement that the Republican Party is “pretty much a white Christian party”:

“I’m disappointed that the leader of the Democrat party finds it necessary to divide Americans by race and faith. America ’s families want to know how we can create the best jobs, give children the best education, and secure our nation from terrorists. They have no interest in playing Howard Dean’s games of division and hate.

“Republicans in Congress, along with President Bush, have a positive agenda that has resulted in economic growth, lower taxes and a more secure future for America ’s families. That is the kind of leadership the American people are looking for.

“Tens of thousands of Republican Jews across America , including myself, know that the Republican Party is a party of vision whose leaders understand the needs of American workers and families and the importance of spreading democracy in the Middle East . Leaders like President Bush have worked tirelessly to support our democratic ally Israel .

“I urge my Democrat colleagues in Congress to tell Howard Dean to apologize for his hateful and misguided statements.”

As someone else commented, what does he say to Bill Frist who believes he is going to hell.
