Damn Democrats (VT)
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 11:09 AM by nickshepDEM
MONTPELIER — Former Lt. Gov. Doug Racine said Wednesday he is considering whether to run for the U.S. Senate seat to be vacated by Sen. James Jeffords, I-Vt., in 2006.

"For most of us in politics the idea of a Senate seat is intriguing," said Racine, who was a Democratic state senator and candidate for governor. "I can't rule it out."

I really hope this guy wakes the fuck up and doesn't run. I doubt he will garner enough support to sway the election away from Bernie Sanders, but hey, you never know.

3. If he wants to end his career with a humiliating defeat, then we can't
stop him. I really hope Doug Racine has more sense than this. Run for a congressional seat in 2006 and win there. When Senator Leahy retires, he would be poised for a strong run. Run against Sanders in 2006, and have your career go down in flames.

I know it won't happen, but if Bernie would just run in the Democratic primary this race would be a total smackdown!
