Time to show spine
OK, time to support Howard Dean, folks. Go to www.democrats.com and leave a message of support for the chairman. Folks, as the brilliant Plaid Adder pointed out, if being polite and nicey-nice and moderate worked, Kerry would be our President. Let's face it, if Dean had called for Utopian peace and love and reconciliation the RW media attack machine would have STILL piled turds on him.
Also, write Kerry, Obama, Biden, etc. and let them know how YOU feel. We are the party! Time to tell the leadership not to diss our chairman in public, and to, damn it, forget decorum and GET DOWN AND RUMBLE. Do you think Chimpy or Cheney or KKKarl give two shits about moderation and fair play? No, they just want to win and they do.
Also, I strongly recommend the following http://rudepundit.blogspot.com.
WE HAVE BEEN GETTING OUR ASSES HANDED TO US FOR YEARS BY BEING "MODERATE." Let the Doctor try this; it just might work and it certainly can't get much worse.

1. I agree. I think it is entirely possible to ...
maintain your integrity and not stoop to their despicable level yet still play the game forcefully. We don't need to necessarily adopt Republican tactics, but it certainly can't hurt to adopt their tone.

2. I agree that we should be aggressive
but I think we should be smart and aggressive. I think Dean's recent messages have been poorly framed and need some tooling. The goal isn't to get mean and angry -- the goal is to get decisive and to win.

Drawing hard, clear distinctions is a must -- drawing the wrong distinctions isn't a prescription for success.

11. We Democrats need to adopt the attitude of "I',m mad as hell...
and not going to take it anymore". Howard Dean represents the fire in the belly of the beast and we need his type of personality to get things moving and he is proving he can do it.

12. I don't think pointing out the overtly
Fundy nature of the Republicans is a bad idea. A hell of a lot of people are upset that their kids can't learn science and be economically competitive or that a stem cell is more important than a parent with Parkinson's or that morals are being dictated to them. Who is speaking for them right now? No one.

5. Power knows the truth
it simply chooses to overlook it. I think the whole exercise is pretty meaningless other than winning over the hearts and minds of ... the already won over.

I'm less interesting in a rhetorical exercise than I am in a political victory. Don't speak truth to power, replace the powers.

And part of speaking truth to power is demostrating COURAGE, which we are always accused of lacking.

9. No problem

This mess is the straw that broke my democratic donkey back. Where was the outrage whenever DeLay or Cornyn or Coulter or O'Reilly or Hannity or any other asswipe like that was calling for violence casting the ugliest aspersions? The media will never be nice to us, so might as well give them something of substance to harp about and get some points for courage and some converts whose minds we get to "click" with the unpleasant truth voiced. The other way certainly is not working.

8. Rude Pundit makes a good point
about Dean picking up the "unpinned hand grenade" and throwing it back at the $#@!%^&*%$ who threw it at us.....

I want a fight with the Repubs.

I want us to quit being Casper Milqtoast.

We haven't won by being more like the Repubs and we have absolutely NOTHING TO LOSE.

That's why I wanted to see Dean as DNC chair to begin with....as for our Democratic Leadership?

They better learn the 11th Commandment real quick!

THOU SHALT NOT SPEAK ILL OF THINE FELLOW DEMOCRAT!

10. Dean is from the DEMOCRATIC WING of the Democratic Party
I am 100% in favor of his speaking out! It's about time we had a fighter willing to fight back. So screw Biden & Obama & all the rest of the "Democratic leadership" who think the way to deal with being steamrollered by Republican fascists is to be tactful. Yeah, that's a winning strategy.

And I love the Rude Pundit, who says

"...Look, Dean's the party chair. His job is to raise money, rally the troops, and bring people into the party. His success or failure is measured in bank accounts and mailing lists. And he's a failed presidential candidate. The party establishment could have tossed him out to the exile pile with Al Gore, who keeps making amazing, passionate, intelligent speeches with all the impact of a fly fart at a System of a Down concert. But instead, the Democratic power elite decided to use Dean and his grassroots army of e-mail savvy warriors to regain relevance. They knew what they were getting. And if Dean becomes the lightning rod, so much the better for whoever is running in 2008.

Besides, ain't it fun to watch Hannity and Coulter and Gingrich and Hume and all the other hate-filled sociopaths flail about and try to take Dean down? You've seen Dean's arms? Big, thick sons of bitches. He can bear it. And he can throw it back at them. As long as those behind him don't put him in handcuffs."

Go Dean! I'm sick of the mealy-mouthed DLC. They don't speak for ME.
