2. Ed just mentioned that he's going to be on
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 02:21 PM by CarolNYC
Called him the great General...Said they'll talk about Gitmo, recruiting numbers, what running in the primaries taught him about politics.....

Also, Ed played a little clip of Dean's press conference today....Sounded good to me...Go Howard!

9. Sounds pretty pessimistic about "success" in Iraq....
Says he expects a draw down on troops in Iraq late this summer...

....This administration's foreign policy makes a draft more likely...

correctly....(talking about the stresses/problems they face with jobs, etc.)

12. Guantanamo...alwasy felt that they should have gone to NATO to
run it.....says lots of bad things went on....should be released or sentenced...

Media is UNDERSTATING what is going on there....Merges into what happened in Abu Ghraib....(world knows what's going on)

Syria-Iran always problems...Iran the bigger problem. Instead of addressing it, went at it sideways....giving them time to develop their nuke problem...

IF PRESIDENT NOW:
Talk to Iraq's neighbors.
More resources into Army so it can restructure itself/train Iraqis
Put best guy he can in there to work to build the political system

I liked that statement too...Ed asked him if the abuses were being overstated and Wes answered that they were being understated. Rock on, Wes!

13. Says he definitely hasn't ruled out running for President...
Democrats looking at bigger ideas...

Americans worried about troops in Iraq; health care; worried that country doesn't have priorities right...

Schultz was very respectful, acknowleged that he had many requests to get Clark on...

18. Yep.
Schultz just gave Clark great reviews. Also mentioned that as soon as Clark announced, the extreme Right Wing went into overtime in sliming him.....nonstop, and were sucessful in derailing his campaign.

No Shit? :wow:

15. In essence.....
Clark said that Bush and his administration is a piece of shit. (K, he didn't say that....but that was the general drift).

Clark did say that Bush will draw down troups in Iraq at the end of the summer. (of course it's political...not because of any success that will have occurred).

33. I liked how....
when Ed asked him if he'd be a different candidate if he ran in 2008 and he answered that he's not a "different person" but he certainly learned a lot by running the last time.

Also liked how, when Ed asked if he was planning on running again, he said he hadn't ruled 2008 out and then immediately went into what the party needs to do now rather than what his plans are for the future...nice to hear someone sound more worried about the party's and the country's future than his own.

16. Schultz on now after the break praising him, says he'll be on again
talking about the rightwing going after him. Says he's traveling the country, hasn't ruled out '08..."what does that say?" (sic)

Schultz says he senses Clark "getting the momentum again" (referring back to how the rightwing freaked last time)

26. Eddie's still talking about the good General!

I missed the notice about him being on the show too, but I'll catch the re-run later. Eddie's still talking about how great he did though :)

Speaking of the General.. Did anyone just catch the blip they just showed on CNN with General Clark shaking hands and a HUGE crowd behind him?

I was on the phone and didn't catch what they said.. :( ... Something about 2008, but WHAT was it they said??

Anyone catch it? It was about 5 minutes ago.
