About governors and Lt. governors
The common wisdom has been that former governors get elected as Presidents. They have demonstrated their ability to govern and can transfer such skills to larger arenas. Certainly the last four Democratic governors - LBJ, Carter and Clinton - came from this background (and a southern one).

Also two of the last three Pubs: Reagan and baby Bush.

This is a point that Howard Dean is trying to make.

And until today I did not realize that Kerry was a Lt. Governor. It was a footnote in a CNN report this morning. I also do not remember Kerry making a point about this. Has he? Should he?

2. LBJ wasn't a former Governor.
Before Carter, the last Governor to become President was FDR.

He's got a long resume and maybe you missed it when he does mention the things he's done.
