3. Because the fascists have taken over this country and we don't
want any fascist-leaning Dems; just let them change their Ds to Rs and be done with it and good riddance to them all!

4. OK. Educate me all about fascism in the Democratic Party.
But first, please present all of your credentials as to your ability to do so. Thanks.

5. It's politics, man...
it's all opinion. But, not to speak for anyone else, but this is how I see it.

If a Democrat voted "aye" on the goddam piece of shit bankruptcy bill, they're part of the problem. Quizzlers. Collaborators. Selling us up the river for a piece of the pie. Or too chicken-shit to stand up to the 'big bad Republicans.'

If all they want to do is roll over and play dead while the corporations gain ultimate control of the government, then I say "fuck 'em."

And, before you ask, I'm not a leftist or a communist. Two years ago I tended toward Libertarian. My wife still does. But I work for one of the 25 largest corporations in the world, and know first-hand that they don't give a FUCK about their employees. The only reason I still work there is because direct supervisor is a really decent guy. A majority of the corporations have tunnel vision. The only thing they can see is the bottom line. And people are little more than disposable, interchangable parts that can help get them there. That's NOT a world I want to live in.

As far as socialism goes--my primary fault with the concept is where it's possible for the state to assume ownership of the individual, either in theory or in fact. If my body and my life doesn't belong to me, I've got a problem with it. Other than that--assuming that democracy (or a constitutional republic semblance of) is maintained, it's no worse than rampant capitalism as an economic system.

7. I can educate you about fascists in the Democratic Party with 3 letters...
DLC.

No further explanation needed.

An explanation is needed, if you CAN provide one.

10. That is the explanation.
The DLC is a collective of corporatist Republicans who are attempting to destroy the Democratic party from within. Since you seem to know so much about communism, you might remember that Joe Stalin once said the best way to control the opposition was to become the opposition. Al From, Will Marshall, Bruce Reed, and the rest of those traitors have certainly done that well.

Making the Democratic party a tool of corporations and dependent on corporate funding has been a huge part of the DLC agenda.

Howard Dean doesn't need corporations to raise money, and they hate him for it.

That's the short version. You want more, do a search of the topic here on DU. It's all well documented.

6. What's this "fucking full blown Socialist or Communist" dig about?
What a Right Wing-esque statement!

How can a pinko commie fag like me refute you if you don't even take the time to present the necessary evidence to back up your inferior analysis?

I hate drive-by shootings of my party. Cut it out.

11. I wasn't making an analysis, I was asking a question.
Why would you call yourself a "pinko commie fag"? I didn't. And which party is this that is "your party"? I'm a Democrat, and I've worked for the Party since 1972, at the age of 14, long before I could even vote. As for my "inferior analysis", as I said above, I was asking a question. Sorry, Frisco, but Democrats aren't all about "look how cool my Che T-Shirt is". How the fuck will the Dems get back to power with all this trashing and bashing of those we have in DC? Too much in-fighting. I've seen posts accusing Barak Obama of voting WITH the Republicans on the Bankruptcy Bill, for crying out loud! I think some folks here don't check the facts before they run their mouths.

12. Your original post implies
that some DUers are more adept at supporting communists and socialists - but not Democrats. Where have I heard that before? Furthermore, it suggests that "some here" are too 'leftist'. Your contempt is dripping off the page.

There's plenty in your post for me to take issue with: Cool Che Guevara T-shirts? Oh please, stop digging.

To your question I say, How the fuck will the Dems get back into power with all this trashing and bashing of the party chair by the Democrats in DC?

15. His follow up posts imply
That most DU'ers can't be bothered to do any research whatsoever, nor come close to learning anything approaching "facts". I agree with him. The amount of disinformation regularly spread on this board rivals a meeting of "intelligent design" protagonists at a biology conference.

9. er...IMHO
Although I don't necessarily agree with every thing from the Ben Nelson / Joe Lieberman kamp and other "moderate" democrats, I am sure as hell glad to have a Dem in those seats that vote our way MOST of the time, rather than a repiglican. With the Rabid Right Wing christians in the red states all stirred up, I'm glad we can keep a D in those seats, even if they are pro-life, or whatever. We need to practice big-tent tolerance, like we preach.

I am convinced these people will help us pull some disgusted moderate republicans over, and yet we don't need to cater to the Dobson crowd. Everyone cant be a Dean/Boxer democrat. Dont we welcome a variety of voices in our party, as long as we don't violate civil rights and cater to big business?

Adopt Right-wing liberal bashing that weakens their own party credibility and identity?

Jesus Christ, who needs Republicans?
