5. He's come a long way
Years ago he was the cartoonist for the New Orleans Times-Picayune. I always thought of his cartoons as soft right-wing, and not at all funny. I could have been wrong, but he definitely would not have been this pointed in his criticism of the right. Of course, the paper at the time was very right-wing, and perhaps that's why he left for Atlanta.

6. Great Cartoonists think alike - Rob Rogers of Pittsburgh Post Gazette
Edited on Fri Jun-10-05 11:01 AM by RamboLiberal
Sunday 6/5. Rob, like Lukovich is often featured in Newsweek. The koolaid drinkers are constantly writing the PG to protest Rob's cartoons. I had the fun last year of attending a news forum that had Rob and Al Novak as panelists. It was a fun night.

10. The perfect complement: Alter's story "If Watergate Happened Today"
Which makes the same point but draws in the details in an all-too-believable way:

The story and the cartoon are perfectly paired.

11. There was still an educated populace in the 1970s
That has changed in the past 30 years.

13. That's true. Now too many people who accept TV and other media as
ONLY entertainment and don't comprehend the outrage of the suppression of the Free Press in this country.

14. Here's another CARTOON with a parallel theme - and Paris Hilton again
instead of what is truly important. This time it isn't just the expectation of constant entertainment, it's the lack of any empathy, knowledge about world events, or emotional depth.
