Bush and 'the memo'...
PRESIDENT BUSH apparently thinks he can dismiss the damning "Downing Street memo" with a few glib words. | If he is right, it is a sad commentary on the state of American democracy and values.

It is important to note that no one has challenged the authenticity of the memo nor the accuracy of its account of the meeting. The White House wants to dismiss it as "old news", John Conyers thinks otherwise.

There should be no statute of limitations -- or shortness of public attention span -- on an issue that cuts to the core of this government's integrity and credibility.

Congress must fully investigate the actions in Washington that led the highest officials in Great Britain to be convinced that the Bush administration was hell-bent on war and working to concoct a rationalization for it.

Don't allow the DSM to fade away as the Ohio election fraud has.

3. Always bring it back to Clinton's impeachment.
Years, they dragged it on.

6. Perhaps WE have to be the high-profile ones,
if the big Dems need to see a groundswell before taking action in these extremely risky times.

(Resisting "Our Gang" reference.)

Edited on Fri Jun-10-05 03:34 PM by shrdlu
...to the front page by Wednesday. Not too big..but there it was with a nice, long jump inside. Today it is the paper's lead editorial which concludes:

"In the interest of the nation and the administration, the source and content of the Downing Street Memo need to be fully explained."

Yes, indeed. Then we can impeach the bastards!

Not really. But it's a happy thought.
