Nobody has the 2008 nomination "sewn up" yet
And anyone who says so has his own agenda.

I still think there may be someone on the back burner.

2. I think Mark Warner
is going to run.

If he doesn't challenge George Allen in 06, you know he's running.

6. I don't know that much about him either...
I hear mixed opinions on here about him.. but I figure.. just like in the last primaries, we're ALWAYS going to have assorted opinions right up until the time we all rally around to support the eventual nominee.. :)

Is Warner seriously considering it? What's he like?

24. Mark Warner information on Demopedia
This is an example of how Demopedia could be a real asset to DU. I took the information about Warner that was in this thread and created a "stub" (an initial short article) about him: http://demopedia.democraticunderground.com/index.php/Mark_Warner

If other people will add little bits as they find them, then our collective knowledge about Warner (his plusses and his minuses) will be saved, and readily accessible, instead of sinking down into the archives as the thread ages.

14. Maybe that's how it appears....
But Blanche is VERY different from the Clintons...her personal style is more wholesome and less smarmy; and she's slightly to the left of Bill Clinton ideologically.

And as a presidential candidate, her policies wouldn't be that different from Evan Bayh's, Hillary Clinton's, or Mark Warner's. She would, however, energize and gain support from a lot of the women who have visceral disdain for Hillary.

15. Well, I was just thinking of what Limbaugh would do with her background
However, that should not be the reason to choose or not choose a candidate.

I am looking forward to seeing all the different candidates and what they have to offer.

19. Do you mean what Rush would say about Blanche....?
He would lob the typical trademark Limbaugh "just another big liberal Democrat" accusations at Senator Lincoln. He would gripe about how "we can't elect another Democrat from Arkansas." He would tear apart any of her Senate votes that he finds "too liberal." He would try to connect her to the Clintons (probably citing how Blanche and her husband Steve were guests at the White House during the Clinton years). Of course, Blanche's ties to Bill & Hillary are really quite minimal.

I doubt any of it would stick. Especially if things in this county continue to go as badly as they have been.

Blanche's winning personality would make Rush look like a complete babbling idiot. Only his fellow Dittoheads would buy into the fabrications.

But I am looking forward to seeing what the entire Democratic field looks like, and I really hope Blanche will decide to get into the race.

20. You got it all in!
That was exactly what I was thinking. It is probably best not to borrow trouble, but you do know that that is exactly where Limbaugh will go.

25. Blanche Lincoln unapologetically voted for Bush's Medicare Bill
Even when she was confronted with BushCo's usual criminal malfeisance regarding lying about how much it would cost to Congress after it was uncovered that a top accounting official was threatened with being fired if he didn't keep quiet about the real costs of Bush's plan (which turned out to be almost DOUBLE that quoted), Blanche Lincoln said she still would have voted for it.

22. This is true
A million things can happen between now and 2008. Remember all the surprises (e.g., Dean's dramatic collapse in Iowa) last time around? Nobody and I mean NOBODY knows the identity of our next nominee.

30. At this point, I 'm thinking Seriously of getting my "DOG & & CAT" to run!
Edited on Sat Jun-11-05 04:00 PM by AuntiBush
I mean, he should be a real "shoe-in" if I run him as a Repuk-Dino type, ya know... Since the other side seems to buy just about anything.

My cat could be like the Vice-Cat in Charge.

If you can't trust my pets you might as well throw the towel in.

:) My boring Saturday afternoon fun

By the phoney voting machines. If they aren't fixed it don't matter who you like on our side...we will lose.

Simple as that!
