1. Color me NOT surprised... |
|
Then, we turn to politics with a "Meet the Press" roundtable with David Broder of the Washington Post, Gwen Ifill of PBS' "Washington Week," John Harwood of the "Wall Street Journal," and Judy Woodruff, longtime political reporter who signed off as Anchor of CNN's "Inside Politics" last week. They will share their insights and analysis on President Bush's second term, Howard Dean's chairmanship of the DNC, and the early forecast for the 2008 elections.

2. In a fair and balanced world.... |
|
Dean would be out of the headlines and the media would be all over sensonbrenner and his unamerican temper tantrum, I almost vomited watching that sick and cruel display yesterday.

4. In a fair and balanced world, we'd be enjoying the second term... |
|
...of President Gore. The Twin Towers would still be standing. And, 1700 US soldiers would be enjoying backyard barbecues, instead of resting eternally in the "gardens of stone."
So much for a fair and balanced world...:(

7. Almost surely that blurb was written before Sensenbrenner had his meltdown |
|
yesterday. The guest list, etc., is planned earlier in the week. We'll have to watch to see what's discussed.

3. I really don't give a damn what Broder, Woodruff or Harwood's.. |
|
insight and analysis is on bush's second term. I have my own insight and have already analyzed how bush has destroyed this country and destroyed the US standing in the world.
I think we already know what will say regarding Howard Dean's chairmanship of the DNC.

5. Is Biden the only Democrat available? |
|
Except for Reid, Durbin, and Dodd (who are the Senate leadership, we never see the 41 other Democratic Senators and most of the Congresspeople in these shows? There are a number of interesting people there.
I guess I wont watch again. Broder representing the left of a panel is not for me.

6. Tim Russert is a douche bag |
|
The question I'd like answered is: Why is Tim Russert such a douche bag?
Was it due to poor potty training? Did he eat too much cheese in the fifth grade? What? What could bring about such a high level of douche baggery in one man?

8. Russert is a douchebag for the same reason other DC journalists are... |
|
They're encased in the "beltway bubble,' and haven't a clue what's REALLY happening.
This also applies to the DINO congresspeople and senators like Biden.

9. Maybe he and "Big Russ" ... |
|
I believe he has been overcome with the star syndrome. He thinks HE is the point of the show, the guests are window dressing. I worked for GE for a decade and will tell you anything Jack Welch was involved with, even peripherally, is corporate corrupt. NBC is simply the PR arm of GE.

11. Broder spoke at my daughter's graduation: |
|
He's on a kick that the entire problem with the nation is the "boomers" divisive attitude. He said that it is up to the "post-boomer" conciliatory generation to straighten out the whole mess. I'm expecting more of the same.
BTW, my daughter and the class of 2005 gave Broder's speech a big WTF yawn and declared it non-inspirational. "They broke it, so now you fix it," was not something they found very convincing.

12. Broder was in the audience at the DNC meeting today. |
|
He had his arms folded across his chest and that certainly prevents one from taking accurate notes. Dean mania from the press corpse and Senator Joementum Biden MBNA, proud sponsor of the bankruptcy fiasco will be there to pontificate on Dean - again... :eyes:
Dean mentioned that Dems couldn't be hypocrites too. Biden is fighting for creds as a spokesperson and went to his base - the media whores.
MTP is a mutually reinforcing paradigm of groupthink since the usual DC suspects only talk to each other.

14. What? No Maxine, Boxer, or heaven forbid, Dean himself? |
|
He's only the subject of the gang bang lynching, after all. Why would it be of ANY interest to have HIM on?
(sarcasm off)
What, were Zell, holy Joe, Ruch and Hannity busy fellating bunkerboy or something again?

noticed.
And the purpose of the Dean "interview" was to tryk to vilify him, not to find the truth.

Dean, one week. Melman the next.
Of course I'd rather have them both on for the hour debating.

was such a disappointment. She's got that Washington insider smirk, just like the rest of them. She doesn't do any research just like the rest of them, just sits there a bloviates. Who cares about her opinion of what Dean said about the Repubs being a party of white Christians. Who cares that she's the daughter of a preacher. I'm the granddaughter of a preacher, so what?
Broder is such a doddering fool it is embarrassing. And Woodruff! My god, can she get more anorexic? I noted that she was wearing a high collared jacket to hide her hideously wrinkled neck.
The whole crew last Sunday looked like people on a sinking ship. They are scared sh*tless that their viewers are slowly catching on that they DON'T deliver the news!

20. After her 'moderating' of the debates, |
|
my hubby (who is a moderate) made the comment, "Well, she was a waste of time. Those questions were terrible!" My jaw dropped as he usually doesn't give unsolicited criticisms.
I've been watching the Nightly News w/Jim Lehrer more (instead of some talking head with Matthews), and whenever Ifel is on...she's TERRIBLE. No investigative or probing questions, all smiles for RWingers, and counterbalancing questions for anyone except Democrats and known Liberals. It's disgusting!

21. That show was once the best on Sunday TV |
|
back when it really WAS "MEET THE PRESS" and not "MEET TIM RUSSERT." There used to be a panel of reporters who would ask people questions, and the moderator would do the odd interview and keep everyone in line, or ask for commentary about the interview. There were many topics, many guests, and a broad array of views.
Now, it has devolved to a one hour PAINFUL exercise in watching a fat guy who drinks too much sweating out his weekend excesses while berating his guests with questions that he does not give them time to answer. Russert is a shill, plain and simple, bought and paid for by the GOP. He is not worth wasting an hour on. If you must watch, do something else, like wash the floor, while you have the show on. For heaven's sake, and for your own mental health, do not let that hour go by if you are simply seated and watching....it's an hour you can never have back again...

I wondered why he looked so awful and sounded so stupid (and what's with his hair?). He was on celebrity Jeopardy a few months ago and Christy Whitman just wiped the floor with him. He was such a doofus.
