I think Conyers would be a good president

He's a no bullshit kind of guy and close to his constituants. What's not to like?

1. Among the ultra-conservative right wingers? Pure and simple...

his skin color...it will never happen in my lifetime. Maybe yours if you're much younger than I. No matter how brilliant; no matter how correct he/she may be...there is still just too much prejudice in this country that never seems to diminish. Narrow minded people perpetuate this prejudice endlessly.

2. Well he has my attention. Too soon to tell, but at this point, he is

first on my list. What tommorow brings is another story, I feel like I have been on a seesaw political circus lately...

Can he continue and make true progress prevail with a small percent standing behind him of those supposedly on his side? I surely pray he can since it seems he is not exactly surrounded by enforcements.

3. The important thing about a President

is the 1500 or so Presidential appointments he gets to make. That is where the rubber meets the road in an administration.

5. He'd make a great Prez

but so many factors are involved in the whole process of getting elected (not even taking into consideration the voting problems). As has been said, race would be an issue with the small minded. Conyers also has a speaking style that is slower than molasses in January. The general public may be likely to tune him out instead of listening. But he certainly deserves a high ranking place when we take back our country.
