It was a meeting of the DNC Executive Committee.
Look at C-span.org and see if it's archived yet.

|
I didn't get a chance to see it--was it a good one?

3. The DNC Meeting in Washington? |
|
I watched that on CSPAN Saturday morning. Dean introduced people in the DNC and they all seemed excited with renewed energy. Dean spoke about the direction of the DNC and how powerful they are now established in each county and precinct of each state. He said nothing about the attacks on him except he did make one funny joke. One of the people asking a question said, "I'm over here jumping up and down to get your attention" (they have trouble seeing through the media lights) and Dean responded, "No, jumping up and down is my job." Dean was beaming as everyone laughed.
I kept getting the feeling throughout the entire meeting that Dean has professionally organized this group and we are becoming so powerful and effective as a result. When you see this and you know the Republicans see it, you can understand why they are so desperately trying to hurt Dean. He is a major threat to them.

4. That meeting prompted me to start this thread - |

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1849644And as I've said before - I've NEVER had the desire to watch a DNC meeting with Terry McAuliffe (he would have put me to sleep). Dean makes me want to watch. It's all very exciting and I sensed a lot of enthusiasm in that room! :hi:

While most of the other democratic leaders are totally disappointing, Dean's approach is straight forward. He does what no other leader in our country can right now, and that's inspire and empower the people he speaks to. He cuts through all the crap, still playing within the political boundaries, and gives people a feeling of hope. When I hear what the press is saying about him now, which couldn't be further from the truth, I realize that while we have threads going back and forth, backing him, criticizing, and everything in between, he got complete control of our agenda and refuses to empower the Republicans or the media with their agenda. He came right out and told them that on Thursday. I laughed, cried and relaxed for the first time all week. He's not perfect and is the first person to laugh at his own shortcomings, but his message couldn't be better. He is defining the party. He is addressing the important issues. None of the media frenzy against him has even touched him; they'll only made him and the party stronger.

7. Okay, there's one thread |

I've baffled at what it is Howard is fighting for if nobody is even interested in the most excellent remarks he made about the Democratic agenda.
