What if the Republicans start spending too much time criticizing Dean? |
|
Couldn't the Democrats turn that on them? With all our problems, they are worried about what one person says? We are not a Party that tries to prohibit people from speaking - not even if it is a leader in our Party. We didn't stop Zell Miller from speaking at the Republican Convention. It's not the way we do business. The Republicans and the country would be better served if they spent less time criticizing Dr. Dean and more time working on the problems they have created in the last 4 and 1/2 years...

That's the point.
Is Dean running for any office right now?
Let them spend all the time in the world.
Let 'em whine.
Whiney Republicans.

1. The interesting issue here is that |
|
even though the Republicans have sizable majorities in the House and Senate, bought and paid for the Presidency, own the Supreme Court and the country's voting machines, they are STILL SCARED OF ONE MAN. That one man is Howard Dean, and it is very telling to see them freaking out like this.

I think the reason they are scared is because Dean is unafraid to tell the country how badly the Repukes are messing things up. Look at it! They have the power, and what have they done with it? Upheld conservative principles like fiscal responsibility and no foreign military adventures? Followed through with their "moral agenda" by attacking Roe v Wade or gay marriage through legislation or Constitutional amendment?
No, when this whole sorry house of cards comes crashing down, the Repukes will have no one to blame but themselves. Dean knows this, and is pointing out the fact that they have lied not only to the American people but to the very constituencies they say they represent.

2. Then more Democrats get a chance to chime in. |
|
I have no problem with that! Some Dems may be for Dean, some may not be totally with Dean, but all get to plug themselves on TV. What's wrong with that? The Republicans are making *us* the focus, which is what we should want.

I agree that you can tell who the Republicans are the most scared of by whom they target. Right now that is Howard Dean. And guess what? Howard ain't backin' down. Because he's not running for office. And because he has a message that the Democratic base wants to hear. The Republicans need to be very afraid because their smear campaigns won't work on this guy.

6. I think you are correct... |
|
That's why they drove him out of the race for the Presidency...By showing the least bit of emotion, they tried to portray him as crazy. They and their friends in the media are very effective at tearing people down if they sense they are a threat to them.

7. They're holding him up for ridicule, but what they don't |
|
show is how well received his remarks are at the various venues he appears at. I've seen him on C-Span - people are dying to hear the truth. He's tapping into a lot of pent up frustration and anger among Dems.
