Will justice be fulfilled by the impeachment or resignation of G W Bush

1. He has already wrought far too much injustice.

After what he and his party have done to this country and to its perception throughout the world, not to mention what has been done to the Iraqi people, impeachment, unlikely as it is, can never be enough to bring about justice. But it's a start! :patriot:

2. It's not just him, it's the system that selected him.

Unfortunately.

I fail to be convinced that debasement of Himself is sufficient to prevent this similar situation happenning again. That people will fail to remember:

...of bringing the thugs to justice.

After the impeachment they must all be tried in the International Criminal Court.

5. Another thing I wonder about...

Some believe he won't be impeached, they believe he'll just resign like Nixon to avoid impeachment. I can see that happening. I can see him leaving the White House in disgrace, getting on the helicopter with Laura, and waving goodbye.

The major reason Bush will not be impeached is that Republicans control both houses of Congress. The House of Representatives will never convict Bush of crimes. Even if the Democrats take control of Congress Bush may never be impeached. Democrats need to win control of Congress.

8. True, Democrats need to win back control of the Congress

I know a lot of people on here think that since Republicans control the Congress, Bush won't be impeached. However, not all Republicans support the Bush agenda. I think we'd just have to find which Republicans are on our side. It might be difficult, but I guess anything's worth a shot.

9. Too stubborn to resign

and too stupid to recognize his faults. It will take a lot to get this republican controlled congress to even consider impeachment. If the pressure mounts to a boiling point impeachment proceedings could happen, but they would just play it out and not get rid of him. He and his cabinet should be prosecuted and brought to justice. It is the only way we can redeem ourselves with the rest of the world community.

I just wonder how the DSM are going to play out in the upcoming trial of Saddam. I am sure his defense is going to bring them up and emphasize the illegal nature of the war on Iraq.
