Dean promises to take the fight to the enemy.
I just heard Dr. Dean on NPR. He pointed to gains in municipal elections this year in the South and to red states with D governors. He said that the DNC will be targeting the South in particular for 2006 and relying on an expanded base of Black voters and contributors there. He also said that the Ds will have a unifying message for 2006. He also dispelled rumors about his supposed lack of effectiveness as a fund raiser. Apparently, this is the best off-year money making year the DNC ever had. (My concern with that, of course, is that the Rs might be doing better still.)

2. The RNC will always outraise us. HOWEVER. . .
"he DNC will be targeting the South in particular for 2006 and relying on an expanded base of Black voters and contributors there."

" a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."

Perhaps he's framing it for a voting block that he needs to focus on? You know, it is funny that in all of this media hype and spin and freak, I haven't heard from one single black voter (that isn't one of the GOP's regular token minorities). Not in the commentary I have read, not on those "Ask Any Damn Fool On The Street" spots that semi-local news teams like to do so much. . . I haven't seen one independant/undecided/swing black voter that said, "Dean shouldn't have said that about the Republicans."

I'm just saying.
