Ask C-Span to cover the Conyers hearing live.

Thursday, 2:00 p.m. EST, John Conyers will have a hearing with the House Judiciary Committee on the Downing Street Minutes.

Suggestions that C-Span cover it live can be sent to:

events@c-span.org

If nothing else, we'll at least see when the Republicans walk out, turn off the microphones, or shut down the hearing.

Whether it will do any good or not remains to be seen, but it's worth a shot.

3. Here's what I sent them
"I have read the "Downing Street Minutes"
released by the British Government, an official document recording the minutes of a meeting involving President Bush and members of the current executive branch. I have friends and family members who have either served or are serving in Iraq.

I am deeply concerned, given the new evidence revealed in this memo and the fact that no WMDs were actually found, that this war with Iraq was not for the reasons Congress was given and were not to protect the United states from an imminent threat. As required, by law for H.R.Res. 114, Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002, the administration was required to report to Congress that diplomatic options had been exhausted before or within 48 hours after military action had started.

Within 48 hours after the attack on Iraq, President Bush informed Congress in writing that Iraq posed a serious and imminent threat to national security; obviously, given the recent information revealed in the Downing Street Memo, President Bush knew that was not true at the time he submitted that letter. This is a clear violation of the False Statements Accountability Act of 1996, and would result in a premeditated illegal act by our President.

At this moment, a concerned group of hundreds of thousands of citizens is preparing to ask Congress to file a Resolution of Inquiry regarding the recent revelations about President Bush's actions in taking us to war. As someone who comes from a family who has served our country in the past and in the present(my grandfather, my father, my brother, my sister and my nephew who just recently returned from Iraq), on this recent Memorial day, it was painfully obvious that many Americans are not aware of the sacrifices being made by our servicemen and their families today, let alone the truth about why we are fighting in Iraq. For those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those who are putting their lives on the line every day in Iraq, as well as their loved ones, I urge you to cover the hearings regarding the Inquiry on the 16th of June. Americans deserve to know the truth about Iraq."

8. Wow!

I guess they REALLY didn't want to be on live TV again shutting down debate and stifling the truth.

I'll email c-span the corrected time and place immediately.

So what will the Republicans do now--bomb the DNC?

I guess Bushco has gotten to them too, or maybe they have gotten so many emails that they are bored of reading them?

10. I could be wrong, but

my understanding is that the only way you can tell if someone has read your email is if they open an attachment or view html graphics. Since many people don't view html graphics and never open attachments unless they know the sender personally and are expecting something specific, I don't usually send graphics or attachments to people who don't know me.
