10. Thanks KoKo.. Our local radio guy must be a day late...
....but at least he's not a dollar short!! ;)

Anchorage's progressive station (KUDO 1080AM) just had a huge fund-raiser which was enormously successful..

BUT.. two days later --- the IBEW decided to REALLY help KUDO radio, and they bought the station $$$ and gave KUDO a contract to run it!

KUDO broadcasts Air America programming along with Big Eddie.. and now has the money to add LOCAL progressive programming as well!

They're buying a brand new studio, an automated radio system (whatever that is?) and all kinds of kewl stuff! Thank you IBEW !!

Oh.. and back to Big Eddie.. Good show so far! Conyers should be coming up soon ~ :)

where the Dem Party wants this administation impeached. Conyers is coming up.

I don't have a problem with anything Schultz has said or done, and I haven't listened to him in a couple of weeks.

I'm so glad to have any coverage with RawStory and Conyers....

12. Too short.. but some of it..
~Rethugs made certain Conyers WILL NOT have a room on Capitol Hill tomorrow.

~Conyers will have to use a place two blocks from Capitol Hill.

~People will ask WHY they blocked him from using a room?

~Conyers currently has over 500,000 signatures; more pouring in.

~Will have a CIA Analyst and a CIA Scholar with him.

~Believes he will have decent press coverage (let's hope so)

I'm sure I missed a lot of it.. but it was too short..

Judiciary GOP pulls the plug on Conyers 'forums'
By Albert Eisele and Jeff Dufour

If the Financial Services Committee is the best in the House when it comes to bipartisan comity, then the Judiciary Committee may well be the worst.

In December, ranking Democrat John Conyers (Mich.) began holding “forums” — gatherings with all the trappings of official hearings — after Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) refused to hold hearings on topics Conyers requested. The forums have been held in smaller committee rooms, often with C-SPAN coverage and formal witness lists.

In a sign of how far relationships on the committee have soured, majority staff recently announced a new policy to deny any request from a committee Democrat for the use of a committee hearing room.

Majority spokesman Jeff Lungren said the Republicans have given Democrats three opportunities to make clear that the forums are not official committee business. Nevertheless, Lungren said, in at least one case, members were addressing Conyers as “Mr. Chairman.”

“They were unwilling or unable to make those changes,” Lungren said. “At this point, if they want to hold these forums, they’ll have to find some other place to do it.”

Sean McLaughlin, deputy chief of staff for Sensenbrenner, recently wrote to a minority staffer in more pointed language.

“I’m sitting here watching your ‘forum’ on C-SPAN,” McLaughlin wrote. “Just to let you know, it was your last. Don’t bother asking again.”

A committee source said committee Democrats are still planning to hold the forums when they find other available space.
