What is the DNC/leadership doing to promote awareness of the DSM hearings?
Nothing on the DNC website that I can spot.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen no organized effort to have all the top DEMs talking about this in front of mainstream cameras or microphones either.

How does the DEM leadership expect Red-state voters to be aware of these hearings if the high-profile DEMs wont speak of it on TV shows or newspaper interviews, etc?

What is Dean, Kerry, Reid, Hillary, Obama and all the other quotable, high-profile DEMs with media access saying about it today?

Are any top DEMs speaking up today about the fact that the GOP is denying Conyers a hearing room? Seems like a great way to put them on the spot for "hiding somthing."

We could always blame the Republican owned corporations for not repeating our talking points for us again, I guess- but what does that accomplish?

2. Good question--I was wondering the same
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 03:56 PM by Malva Zebrina
seems like Conyers is the lonesome warrior on the field.

PS--I don't think Obama comes anywhere near "high profile" and if he does, it is all window dressing.

3. Same with voting reform last January & Jeff Gannon.
Two other high-crime scandals that few outside of DU have ever heard of.

The DNC is allowing Conyers to use their HQ for the hearings- bad idea unless they promote WHY they had to do this.

5. I know- see post #1. But who besides DUers KNOWS that?
And who besides DUers knows WHY it has to be held there?

That is my point.

6. Why is it left to Conyers to stand up for us on vote fraud, DSM hearings?
Inquiring Democrats would like to know why other Democrats stand mute.

Today is the 14th.

I was hoping to see somthing about DEM TV appearances about this issue- not just preaching to the choir on website that only folks who already know about the memo see...

18. If you really think the DNC is doing all they can do, fine.
A website entry from 9 days ago seems like the bare minimum to me-nothing on the front page even.

DEMs still have trouble when it comes to defining the issues and getting taking points into the "echo chamber." This issue appears to be no exception.

My point is that the DNC and top DEMs could be doing a hell of a lot more to promote awarenss of these hearings.

11. So they are promoting it by telling folks who already know about it?
I was hoping I would see somthing on the site about TV appearances, etc.

Even still, these blog links are dated June 3 & June 5- today is June 14th.

13. More new info on Kerry's efforts:

A senior aide close to Kerry said this week that a Kerry is circulating a letter about the memo among Democratic senators before sending it to Bush. The aide predicted that Kerry would make the letter public in the next few days.

19. I apologize in advance for my kill-joy attitude,
but I don't understand the big brou-haha surrounding the latest news regarding the DSM, Kerry, and his efforts to get co-signers for a letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee.

/Begin rant/
So what? So Kerry presents this letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee and then what? He hasn't said a thing publicly; his office still won't or can't confirm any information related to this mysterious letter. I swear, if I hear one more person say he's holding back waiting for just the right time.... I will scream. It really irks me that a "senior aide" to Kerry can "predict" that Kerry "might" make this letter public "in the next few days," and suddenly he's the knight in shining armor ready to sweep us off our feet.

Well, big whoop. I'll give credit when credit is due, that is, when he takes action rather than just letting his aide plant a speculative story in the media.
/End rant/

20. I agree that Top DEMs like Kerry need to be on TV talking about this.
And I will blame them, not the Republican owned media for letting the story die if they do not.

9. Agreed. So tired of Conyers and other House Dems doing all the work!
If Dean can belch the useless toads he's been belching about Republicans, he can start belching out toads on election fraud, impeachment and the many other major topics to address for us.

Right?
