They're waiting.

Dems, Repugs. They're waiting to see if Conyers can gain some momentum. They're hiding in the shadows. If the DSM gains momentum, they will be falling over each other to get to the microphone.

If.

CSPAN3? We will need to keep up the pressure, more so after tomorrow. It could die over the weekend. The counter-spin will come out swinging. Bush already has with his "they don't do nuthin'" nonsense.

If it's covered heavily on the weekend news shows, and I don't mean right wingnuts, spewing their spin. I mean real discussion about it's implications, and the word impeachment tossed about.

We should focus on the weekend news shows, CNN, Faux, MSNBC will pick it up from there on Monday. If we can keep hammering them.

If.

Let's not stumble at the end of a long road.

2. Don't forget you can listen to cspan3 on your computer.
On another thread, someone said they didn't know that you could. Just go to the cspan home page, find cspan 3 and click the listen live link.

3. Isn't it sad we have to do this?
I mean, cripes, can you imagine the public having to lobby the media to cover Watergate? We have to beg and plead with someone to give airtime to what is perhaps the biggest story of the century. It's just wacky!

6. Hear hear!
Common sense left the country in 2000 after 50% of the country was convinced that Bush pissing away the budget surplus in $300 incraments was a good idea. Now look at us.

Pathetic.

Peace
O8)

Here is my standard letter to the Media:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you know, on May 1 of this year a document now commonly referred to as “|The Downing Street Memo” was released into the British Press. These minutes of a British cabinet meeting raise serious question about how the administration was handling intelligence related to Iraq and appears to suggest that the Bush Administration had already decided on war when publicly it was claiming that no such decision had been made. Now further documents have been released in the British media which cast even further doubts.

These documents and other documents suggest that the Bush administration was determined to “fix intelligence” around a predetermined policy. Some of these documents make it clear that the administration had no credible plan for dealing with the post-war occupation.

It is most disturbing that there has been a virtual media blackout regarding “The Downing Street Minutes” and other disturbing documents.

Even more disturbing is the absence in the America media of any credible in-depth follow-up discussion or coverage regarding strong, credible and independent evidence that the Bush Administration intentionally mislead the U.S. Congress, the media and the American people.

I do hope you will accept the responsibility to address this issue and provide serious investigative journalism into this matter.

Furthermore, on Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other House members will hold a hearing to consider testimony concerning the Downing Street minutes and questions of possible fixing of prewar intelligence. I do hope you will be giving full coverage to these events.

Sincerely,

8. Get the ball rolling............
before anyone and everyone who knows something concerning these memos dies of a "heart attack" or "single car accident". It is imperative that we get this information out into the public eye ASAP! It does us no good without supporting testimony before Congress, we have to get these leakers into protective custody!
