prefers?

I gave to Dean for America when Gov. Dean was running for President.
I have given to the DNC a couple of times since he became the Chairman.

I can't give to both, and I feel it will help Dean (and the Democratic Party) to give to the DNC rather than to DFA. The powers that be are looking at how much money he's bringing into the DNC - not DFA.

I don't mean to be disagreeable. I honestly would like to know people's opinion on how is the best way to handle this situation.
