Kerry, Dean aside. The huge story is the TURNOUT!!! |
|
If this portends the coming election...we win hands down and the landslide is in our favor.
Remember Rush predicting a landslide for Bush in 2000? I do. Par for the pundit course.

Rove and the RNC have good reason to be wetting their drawers.

2. Yes, that is HUGE news!!!! |
|
I heard there was a 55% increase in caucus goers, and the increase was almost totally due to people who had NEVER been to a caucus before. THIS is the kind of turnout we really need in the GE.
No matter who wins the nomination, I will always believe that Dean's candidacy shook up the race and the electorate enough to be the biggest factor in this increase. I will always be proud of having been a part of this.

I think there was a 100% increase in turnout in Iowa over the 2000 turnout.

4. The other side of this is |
|
the number of people who voted for W who say they will not vote for him again. Not all of them will vote for the eventual Democratic nominee, but if they stay home it will help us.

I think Republican voter turnout is going to be VERY low in 2004. I think a lot of 'average joe' republicans are going to be too pissed off at Bush to vote for him and too prideful to vote Dem.
I think they'll just sit this race out.

8. This means to me that there a huge number of people |

are NOT asleep at the switch. While they may disagree about who is the best candidate, they agree that Bush has to go.

9. And the explanation for this turnout is Democrats outrage over * |
|
Dean galvanized a lot of it, but people were already mad as hell. That's why most voters say electability is the most important factor. ABB wins the day.

a larger more motivated electorate in the primaries bodes well for dems in a general election.
