Republicans and foreign oil |
|
The Cantwell Amendment fixing a goal to diminish the import of foreign oil is being voted down by most Republicans right now.
I guess this makes clear to what point their (and Bush's) claims that independance from foreign oil is an important objective for them is hollow.
I guess Iraq was not enough for them.

And Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and Linc Chaffee all vote with the Dems. Collins checked with her "handlers" I guess because she changed her vote to "no".
But people who call them "moderates" have to note that these votes with the Dems didn't count! I'm waiting for the time when their votes actually do make a difference.
But, all in all, these Senators who voted against reducing dependence on foreign oil 40% by 2025 - twenty years from now! - are the most hypocritical people on earth!
