If the MSM blackout of Conyers Hearing on the DSM's is not testimoney...
to my repeated assertion that our best chance for success in the face of corporatization and fascistization is to stop supporting it by continuing to conduct our consumer lives "as usual".

There are so many huge issues that achieve little relative traction from Iraq and DSMs, bankruptcy, elec. voting, patriot act, reproductive and gay rights, social sec., pensions, Dems pulling some crazy shit, and the 22nd amendment! As you all know I could go on and on... the shear volume of issues and information is mind boggling.

One of my first posts:

"STRIKE, SLOW DOWN, BOYCOTT!!!" http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1776390&mesg_id=1776390

Hits on this issue and I think that WHILE WE CONTINUE TO PURSUE ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES we need to work to stop FUNDING OUR OWN DEMISE!

We are getting the word out and people are starting to notice what's happening, but not fast enough.

1. My solution?...
Turn the fucking thing off!! Just think, if there weren't all those posts about what Fox says? How much more thought provoking discussion would we be having? Leave the television be what it was designed for...entertainment....and find your news where it lives....

2. you missed the point... the TV is just one of the tools
I'm talking about the direction of government, what seems to be their strategy based on everything that's going on...

I think most here do not rely on the MSM/Television for information.

3. actually, i guess i don't.....
what we are up against has no face. The behemoth mass of corporate corruption is way way way out of control....and in some scenarios has been in existence almost since the founding of the nation.

4. Blackout is a good term; EMBARGO is better.
EMBARGO: Restriction; restraint; prohibition.

NBC Nightly Mews: not one fucking word.

Actually Bu$h cares what you think. He is doing his best to control it too.
