DSM makes AOL Top News - Memo calls Pre-war Intel 'fixed'
If someone has already posted this I apologize. I was thrilled to see this finally reported by AOL andright on my welcome screen as "Top News" as I signed in to get my email.

BTW - The AOL message board is pretty wild with this. :D

For those who can get it on AOL (since it's AP it should be elsewhere as well):

Democrats Hold Hearing on 'Downing Street Memo'
By PETE YOST, AP

WASHINGTON (June 16) - Amid new questions about President Bush's drive to topple Saddam Hussein, several House Democrats urged lawmakers on Thursday to conduct an official inquiry to determine whether the president intentionally misled Congress.

At a public forum where the word ''impeachment'' loomed large, Exhibit A was the so-called Downing Street memo, a prewar document leaked from inside the British government to The Sunday Times of London a month and a half ago. Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, organized the event.

<snip>

The president ''may have deliberately deceived the United States to get us into a war,'' Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said. ''Was the president of the United States a fool or a knave?''

The Democratic congressmen were relegated to a tiny room in the bottom of the Capitol and the Republicans who run the House scheduled 11 major votes to coincide with the afternoon event. ''We have not been told the truth,'' Cindy Sheehan, whose soldier son was killed in Baghdad a year ago, told the Democrats. ''If this administration doesn't have anything to hide, they should be down here testifying.''

8. There's an article on Yahoo this morning...
It shows up as the Most Emailed: Democrats Urge Inquiry on Bush, Iraq

I personally would have preferred a more eye catching title but hey... it's a start. :)

2. This is "management's" most conspicuous message yet.
I'm no coincidence theorist and today's coverage by AP on AOL's front page is no coincidence. Bush is simply unacceptable, he is a total idiot, and the 'powers that be' are now sending him a message...go the fuck away you "moran." He and the cabal have not yet picked every apple off the tree and they're not about to leave.

There will be more and it will push him down to about 35%. I think the tipping point was both the Iraq war and the little known of judicial philosophy that some of their new appointees propound: everything enacted form the New Deal on is unconstitutional. One of these judges will issue an opinion like that and it will be the end of all of them.

So, let's make sure we actually get to ELECT the president we ELECT next time and...

7. I DO think his ratings HAVE been at about 35% for some time now.
If they drop lower...

Has a Prez ever had a minus-zero rating? One can always hope.

9. Yeah... "stretched the truth" umm.. how about flat out LIED?
"Stretched the truth" is a HUGE understatement IMO. I would love to get a hold of the twits that write up these polls sometimes.

We've been thinking of leaving AOHell for years, since the kids are all grown up and gone we're down to using it merely as a BYOA for email and the easy anon surf factor. Lately though I'm rather finding it fun to go to the political issue message boards and watch the neo-con Republicans heads spin and implode. ;)
