My moderate officemate's reaction to the hearings yesterday
My officemate is a wonderful barometer of moderate-to-conservative folks who've swallowed some kool aid but not a fatal dose. I love to use her as a barometer of non-liberal thought. She's against gay marriage but probably for legal civil unions. She wanted Terri Schiavo kept alive for her mother's benefit. She was furious with Arabs after 9/11, even though she recognized the inherent racism in her feelings. She supported the war but now realizes it was wrong.

Her reaction to the hearings was pretty interesting. Cindy Sheehan's testimony made her cry. All through the rest, she shook her head and said it was an outrage and that I'd been right with everything I'd told her.

I think Bush's approval ratings reflect millions of people like my officemate waking up to the truth. All we need to do (all, ha!) is get the information out to more people like her and Whistle Ass and his Neocon Death Cult are history.

5. I'll pray you're right
and that we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but these guys are so, so bad that they won't give up without a fight and they seem to be willing to do almost anything to stay in power. Their deathmarch could be quite bloody.

6. Its not a liberal-conservative, or partisan thing any more
Thanks for your relating your story. I think millions more are experiencing her feelings. You have a nice touch; I think if you had been an abrasive partisan all this time she may have shut down her mind long ago.

Now is the time to drop all partisan rhetoric. We can't gloat that we were right all along. Its becoming obvious so we don't even have to say it. We can't use this for the purpose of advancing our own partisan agendas because this matter transcends partisan politics.

We have to hold accountable those who are responsible and take measures to keep such a thing from happening again. Remember it was a Democrat, LBJ, who lied to the people to get us in Vietnam. We need to discuss as a nation our posture in the world.

We have to get the information out, like you said. Yesterday was the first small step.

At this point, we can probably just state the facts and let them speak for themselves. BTW, she'd never heard of DSM until I told her about it.

13. Get The Information out -Yes!
Truth will speak for itself.
I plan on throwing a few "truth about bu$h" parties featuring the DVD of the hearings available @ link below.

Showing people the hearings and other information has become our duty now that there is no longer a free press to do that sort of thing for us.

14. When something ain' t right, well, it ain't right.
"...swallowed some kool aid but not a fatal dose." What a terrific turn of phrase.

The Media could have finished off that woman with the amount of kool-aid they've dispensed, except for the fact that she has a functioning brain and heart.
