Thanking the DSM forum.
I rounded up the addresses of the congressmen and women at the DSM forum so that I could write them with my thanks and congratulations. Included are their DC address and at least one home state address as most of them have more than one.

Many of their web sites recommend sending mail to their home state offices as the mail in the DC congressional office buildings is so totally messed up. I thought about that for a few minutes. Why would we (as a country) let mail from the constituents of our representatives be delayed to such a degree? The net effect is to cut them off from the grassroots.

After visiting some of the websites of our congress people, it is clear that most are missing out on a tremendous grassroots opportunity. John Conyers is the exception. He is a national treasure in many ways and his blog is a great asset. I would urge more of our representatives take advantage of the blog-sphere. As the MSM becomes more and more a tool of the rich corporate class, many citizens will turn to free open source methods of communications.

This is probably not a complete list of all who at the DSM forum, but I am writing the ones I know of and relating congratulations and thanks for their efforts. I am a grateful citizen, proud of their acts of courage no matter what comes of this effort. John Conyers is doing a wonderful job with his web site and internet activities. He demonstrated exceptional courage and strength in approaching a white house shielded behind bars and undoubtedly protected by many armed Secret Service personnel.

2. Thank you for the list.
Others who were there include Kapptur (sp?) of Ohio, who was great, and George Miller and Lynn Woolsey, both of California.

5. And on the other end of the spectrum,

I called my congressman Norm Dicks office this morning to ask where he was yesterday. The very polite woman said just a minute, let me look. She couldn't find his schedule and asked me if I have a message for him.

I said, yes. I wondered why he wasn't at Congressman John Conyers forum yesterday regarding the Downing Street Minutes. My message to him is that I want my representative to be more like Howard Dean and that if Dicks has someone running against him in the primaries I will do all I can to see to it that that person is elected.

What a contrast between the two.
