Look, folks, I don't care who you vote for, I don't care who you stand by. We have a rightwing media that will color pictures at will. CNN had a poll up which asked "do you think the media was unfair to Howard Dean?" Dobbs promised to give the results, but the results (I checked as he said it) said 60% yes, the media was unfair. Dobbs never showed the results, that poll just disappeared.
I don't care if you're for Dean, Kerry, Edwards or Clark, let's ignore the stupid distinctions the media places before us. Let's defend all four, because any of them can beat Bush. I distrust Clark, but in this climate I will defend him and even support him.
Stop sniping at each other and keep your eye on the god damned ball. This election is important.

1. I won't defend a prowar candidate, and that includes Kerry |
|
I will defend the antiwar candidates, and that includes Wes Clark.

2. Don't tell us not to snipe at each other, then take a swipe at Clark. |
|
Seems rather disengenuous.

I have a penchant for making one line destroy an entire message. ;)
Clark is a good man, I did not mean to imply otherwise.

5. That's not intended as a snipe |
|
It's a gut reaction, and that's my problem. He may get the nomination and I'll be behind him if he does.
My point was intended to be, let's stick to the issues and once we've run that course let's be united in purpose.

3. "I distrust Clark" you say, and then lecture on sniping? |

Clark hasn't done ANY thing to warrant that, it's a gut thing, and I'm sorry for it, but it's my gut. Some Clark supporters are making me rethink things, but that doesn't happen overnight.
If Clark gets the nod, I will be 100% behind him.

7. People don't seem to get it |
|
I was saying I would do what, up to a month ago, would have been unthinkable to me. Clark is FAR preferable to Bush.
I'm sorry I don't like Clark, but I don't. I can't change that and don't believe I should. I will support him, though, and give my all for him if he gets the nod.
I stand by what I said. Stop sniping at each other and keep your eye on the god damned ball! This IS important. And, if it comes to it, I WILL support Clark and I WILL find good reasons to do so.

9. OK...I understand your sentiments... |

We all need to work together, not only on DU, but in our neighborhoods to bring people to our party.
OUr nation stands on the balance, and November 2 is probably one of the most important days in determining the direction of this nation.

Let's be democratic about this. Advocate for your candidate, not against other candidates.
There are plenty of candidates in the field I wouldn't vote for--in a primary. When the General Election comes, I'm voting for the Democrat.
It is more important to me to pick the best candidate, the one that will be best for the country. No candidate that won't oust Bush will be good for the country. Among those that will oust Bush, I want us to choose the one that will do the most good for the country.
I'm supporting the candidate I think fits those requirements, and I invite you to do the same--from your perspective. Because democracy works; what doesn't work is the idol worshipping voluntary dictatorship s**t the GOP has done with Reagan and Dubya. It is time we ignored the GOP's way of doing things and focused on how to do the right thing.

11. The enemy is the corporatized and coopted press |
|
not any of our individual candidates.
Even Joe Lieberman (even he) would be 1000% better than the Shrub.
