help with dsm letter

My newspaper (Toronto Star) had no coverage of the dsm forum yesterday. I am sending them a letter encouraging them to cover it. This is a draft. Any help with it would be appreciated.
Sir/Madame,
I was very disappointed that there was no coverage of U.S. Rep. John Conyers public forum held yesterday on the Downing Street Minutes.
This is an incredible story, with the implication being that the Bush White House fixed the intelligence in order to go to war in Iraq.
Over 100,000 people have died in this war that seems to be based on lies.
The Republicans seemed intent to do whatever they could to make this forum as difficult as possible to take place.
From giving them a small room in the basement of the U.S. Capitol to scheduling eleven consecutive votes lasting to approximately 4pm, something that Rep. Conyers said is unprecedented.
The testimony given at the forum is fascinating.
This story is huge and you would be doing a great service to your readers to cover it.
