Who should be the witnesses at Rep. Conyer's next hearing?
He has said there will be more hearings. They are desperately needed, in my opinion? But where should he hold them if the Repubs refuse to give him a room in the Capitol? And who should he invite?

I think a couple of parents that have lost sons or daughters in this war would be a good place to start. Also, if he could get Galloway and/or another British official familiar with the documents, that would be a coup. Also, a media critic such as Joe Conason, might be a good witness. (However, that might threaten his career)

3. Democrats who voted for the war.
They should go to the hearings and make it clear that they did not know about what the memo says went on when they voted, and that this is not "old news" to them at all.

4. They should also invite top News executives...
...not they will show up- but DEMs could say- we did invite them to clear up the issue of whether this is "old news" and to question them on their excuse that "all of us already knew Bush was lying."

11. For Archive Robin Cook, Clare Short
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/jul2003/wmd1-j03.shtml

“I fear the fundamental problem is that instead of using intelligence as evidence on which to base the conclusion of a policy, we used intelligence as the basis on which we could justify a policy on which we had already settled.”

Short told the committee that the decision to go to war had already been taken last summer. ( 2002 ) She said that “three extremely senior people in the Whitehall system” had told her the decision had been made by President Bush and Prime Minister Blair, and the “target date was mid-February <2003> and later extended to March because of a difficulty with the Turks and so on and to give our prime minister a little more time.”
