I am very, very disappointed by the DNC website.
Some reasons:

First of all, there isn't much to it and the story about Tom DeLay has been on the front page for weeks.

If you do a search for "Downing" the only result you get is this:
1. DNC News: DNC Chairman Statement on Anti-Semitic Literature - Rank: 1000
...ommittee: "Yesterday members of the Judiciary Committee held an important hearing on the so-called Downing Street Memo and its implications. Unfortunately, some members of the audience took it upon themselv...
/news/200506170001.html

It pales in comparison to the RNC website. Yes, I know they have more money, but we have millions of talented, educated people who could work on the website and it is very, very important.

If you search for "Deibold" you get one result, an article about how there is going to be a review of the Ohio election.

If you search for "Conyers" you get one result and it is from January, 2005.

Well, I could go on but these are some major problems I see with the website.

1. Site needs help
Most party websites have important things like that on the front page for all to see.

2. The DNC
has been slow to respond for a while. Remember the Swift Boat Veterans for Slander? It seems we have to vett material through ALL of our special interest groups before it goes out.

4. That's a good analysis.
I guess that means that we grassroot people have to work for more than just the party organizations.

13. That's Why I Like PDA
They have the good qualities of the DNC without the monolith!

6. Democratic Party doesn't represent progressives
Maybe THAT'S why all of you are disappointed.

Under Democratic presidents we have seen massive expansions of war, support for corporations, and utter destruction of social programs along with enlargement of the police state.

7. I agree completely
But somebody, maybe Janx, not sure, said this site is temporary and they are working on a new site. This was a few weeks ago.

9. You should e-mail them.. they WILL respond back personally!
I wrote them a few weeks ago and told them that their website design looked like crap. (Ok, I didn't say it exactly like that }( ) but I asked them WHY they have such a dull, boring, bland, unattractive layout?

I mean.. look at the site - there's not even a header on it.. No photos on the main section - nothing! :boring:

I received an e-mail the next morning saying that "you're right, it is pretty bad. But I'll need to have a web-designer respond back with any details of what we have in store.

I did get another e-mail from them - this time from one of the web techies. He promised me that they'll be launching a whole new design soon; that they've been working on it for a couple months and that any input for what we'd like to see is more than welcome!

Morale of the story .. At least they DO respond back when you have questions or concerns!

Go to their contact page and put your message (just like it is here) on there! They REALLY need to hear complaints like that! :)

10. Oh, it sounds like I should have emailed them first instead of
posting here.

Thank you for the good advice.

11. Yeah, Dean mentioned the new site in progress
in a letter I recieved from the DNC about a month ago. I went there a couple days ago, and I was hoping that wasn't the new one! Probably the lack of updates is a result of trying to get the new site tied-off and rolled out.

Looking forward to it.

12. I just emailed them
here's a copy:

What is wrong with you people?

WHERE THE HELL ARE THE ARTICLES ON CONYERS AND THE DSM????????????????

He's the only with B@LLS in the entire Dem party these days and you don't even bother to report it?? Except as an "aside" to Dean's comments with a header about anti-semitism?

Geesh.

****

I think we should all write them on this. What the hell is going on?

:argh:

14. There is an article about the DSM and links to Conyers's site
at the DNC web site. I hope that when the new one goes up, it will be more prominent. I have a hard time finding it now even when I search for it. It was one of the news items on the blog.

15. Thank you.
I think we need to keep our eyes on all of our elected and party officials to keep them on their toes. :-)
