|
Did anyone else get a confirmation email from an invalid email addy?

1. No, what email address did you get the confirmation from? |
|
That way other people who donated can at least tell you what address they got the confirmation from. Might it be invalid because it is just an automated outgoing email address and not one that receives email?
When I tried to donate it said my card was bad -- and I had just used that card online earlier that day and used it at a store the next day without any trouble.
Frustrating!

3. I know, it could be nothing |
|
and I can think of various ways to explain it, but it still makes me nervous, especially since the donation went through a 3rd party

4. Try your post again -- you need a response from someone who |
|
knows more about this than I do...
Maybe name your post "HELP: Fraudulent collection of funds for Conyers?" and explain what happened and ask what you can do to find out what is going on. We all want to be able to donate with confidence that our donation goes to the right party and that our privacy is secured.

5. I know, I thought about that |
|
I mean, making a more provacative title, but the risk is then that it may look like I'm trying to prevent people from donating or something -- you know how that goes. So I'm trying a subtle heads-up for those who are interested.
It may be totally nothing, he probably signed up for the donation account (3rd party) and used his AOL addy at the time, and since then, he's gotten his own domain and blog, and is now just using that for email -- I don't know, but that's my best guess.
Still, just a heads up! I emailed through his domain too, but it bounced because it said the mail box was full.

You could use a catchier title and explain in the text that you want to make sure that everyone who wants to give can be confident the site it secure --
"Making a secure online donation to Conyers"
I just made a donation to Conyers at <http...> and I got an email back from .....@aol... and I am wondering whether I should be concerned because...
If others have donated what reply did you receive? Who could I ask about this? How do we know whether any donation site is secure?
Good luck!
