Imagine a John McCain vs Joe Biden race for President in '08 |
|
I'd likely put a bullet in my head if I had to choose to between those two.
Milktoast, try to be everything to everybody, status quo, political opportunists who have never met a microphone or camera they didn't like.

1. McCain would kill Biden. |
|
Which would be just as well. Biden is such a weakling, McCain would almost be preferable. Actually he would be preferable.

5. no, they are equivalent |
|
Please remember it was McCain who initially was against making Martin Luther King day a national holiday, was involved in the S&L crisis, is against Roe V Wade, but most of all campaigned and supported the jerk who is president now

either one of those people would insure that we would continue to stay in Iraq. Thousands more Americans and Iraqiis would be killed, and it would be years before we finally realized that this was worse than Viet Nam

7. While I am not a big fan of Biden, I feel McCain would be |
|
another disaster. I never feel I am getting truth from McCain. He never answers questions with a real answer. His soft-spoken manner makes too many think he is a man we could trust. I simply do not trust any Republican.

8. do I have to? good thing I haven't had breakfast yet |
|
I liked Biden fine until the whole Bankruptcy thing and still have to give him some slack since all the big CC companies are based in Delaware because of their corporate friendly laws. I can't beat the guy up too much for supporting his home state constituents. But I don't think he's presidential material.
As for my esteemed Senior Senator McCain, he lost my respect when he cozied up to Bush after the horrible things the smear machine did to his wife and family in 2000. I respected the guy for years even though I didn't agree with many of his policies and refused to actually VOTE for the guy, I used to just pass by that section of the ballot on election day. (except last year we actually had a Dem run against him so it was fun to mark the big X in the senate race)
McCain I believe will have a tough row to hoe to get the nod from the right wing and I don't see either of them on the final ticket in '08

9. I agree with your assessment that they are disastrous choices |
|
but I would bet the press whores would look upon them as manna from heaven. I confess to never being a McCain idolizer, and have no way of understanding it. He has Press the Meat all to himself this Sunday. Why? As for Biden, good lord, what an example of essentially worthless self love. Every time I see him, I expect any second he is going to break out kissing himself. Joe Loves Joe.

stand up for himself and his family against the vicious attacks on him made by the bush terrorists in the past 8 years or so.
If he will not stand up for himself, why should anyone believe he will stand up for us?

20. Imagine a Dean/Boxer third party ticket |
|
Or Dean/Clark even. Dean/Conyers would work too. If the "Democratic" party nominates a PNAC signator for President, then they deserve to lose not only the election, but the party itself.

21. Biden is a 2 percenter |
|
Every presidential race has the few serious candidates and ten the four to six 2 % candidates that stick around for a few debates and then quit. That's what Biden will do.
