The lights have gone out in America
According to one comment, posted from Pennsylvania, to this BBC report about the Conyers hearing on the Downing Street Memo.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4101420.stm

However, around 500,000 Americans have signed a petition against the war.

Gold Star Families for Peace, a non-partisan group, has expressed its support for the hearing.

<snip>

White House officials say the president is now planning to sharpen his focus on Iraq, but there is no suggestion that this will involve any policy change.

Very depressing, that - no sign of a policy change on Iraq.

First time, I think, that I have seen reference to Gold Star Families for Peace.

1. Bush is sharpening his focus - meaning he's trying to sell the war
again.

If he's as successful at bolstering support for the war as he's been on privatizing SS

not much will change

He won't get behind withdrawal, even rhetorically. And the US public will continue to get behind it increasingly. Wonder who will win this disagreement?

2. Yes, but * continues to play with KKKarl's propaganda catapult,
and so far, that little toy has been proven very effective (on the morons).
