Will Dean try a third party run? |
|
Dean's run for the Democratic nomination appears to be dead in the water. If the doesn't get the nomination, will he try for a third party run? It has happened before when a disgruntled candidate, denied the nod, bolts the party and runs as a new party.
What would be the effect if Dean did run third party? What percentage of the votes would he pull?

2. he has said repeatedly he isn't. Most recently last night |
|
at the Dem dinner when he said it is important to elect a Democrat over GW Bush. People who keep bringing this up without any foundation make me wonder about their motives.
By the way, "dead in the water"?? he won DC, came in third in Iowa--disappointing but survivable--he is gaining in NH and undecideds are climbing. He may come in a strong second in NH or a surprise win--it depends on committment of voters and according to Zogby--Dean's supporters 66% are "very committed" compared to 56% of Kerry's. Let's wait until the votes come in to say someone is "dead in the water". I think the race to really watch too will be for third--will it be Edwards or Clark.

3. It may be the only way to get this party back |
|
the money machine at the DNC has already done everything it can to kill Dean's run. I don't think he will but I don't think he should support the Bush light alternative with cash. He should use his money to elect real democrats to congress. We still have a chance of beating them there. But let's not count him out just yet. I can tell you this the DNC has heard from me and will get no money from me.

First of all, he's far from dead in the water.
And second, just how many times does he have to say that he will support the Democratic nominee?
What else must be said to get people to accept this?

9. He has said no on many occassions.... |
|
But the DLCers who are pushing Kerry shoud be careful not to aienate the Dean base--if things are handled poorly, there could be a big wave of supprt for someone like Nader
PS--I hope this doesn't happen.
