Exit strategy for Iraq: Date or Event Based? |
|
Clearly we need an exit strategy. However, there is a debate on how to do it. Do we set a deadline which we must accomplish everything by and on that date, we head out or do we do it on an event based concept in which gradually draw down based on progress?
I say we do it on the event based concept personally. Setting a specific date is just too dangerous in too many ways.
What is your opinion?

2. what do we do if the event |
|
doesn't happen within, say, the next 10 years? that's what worries me about making it event-based. after all, dubya resisted the iraqi elections to begin with. he probably wouldn't have, if diebold had supplied the voting machines.

OK, you want us out, stop all attacks and we will leave with in two months and ten days from the day you stop. All attacks stop for ten days and we will begin to leave and will be gone with in two months if piece holds. Just an idea, feel free to blow it up. We can't win. Why should more die by staying untill some time when we decide we can't win and go.
