Reid: Principle is not the sole domain of U.S. conservatives
This is a response to a local paper that Reid submitted - the first part pertains to a local matter, I have posted the rest

Reid: Principle is not the sole domain of U.S. conservatives
--------------
By SEN. HARRY REID
--------------

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the land. The justices have great power and great responsibility. People often ask me what effect or influence the courts have in their lives. What I mentioned above is a perfect example of a case before the Supreme Court that directly affected a business in Pahrump.

Recently, a number of responsible Republicans came forward and joined with Democrats to stop the Republican leadership from taking away the right of the Senate to filibuster.

In their wisdom, the founding fathers include the filibuster in the Constitution to ensure consensus and compromise.

I'm glad we have moved past such a troubled time in the history of our government. I hope President Bush, like presidents have in the past, will consult with both parties when making future judicial nominations. This would make our founding fathers proud.

3. Bullshit title -- must read critically
It didn't sound like Reid, and guess what?

It wasn't.

Reid never wrote the line "Principle is not the sole domain of U.S. conservatives". That was some newspaper editing done, apparently, to insinuate that conservatives have principle.

Although I've accused them of many things...
