Are Republican politicians pulling away from Bush?
Are you seeing signs that the Republicans in Congress are backing away from their previously "solid" support of anything and everything Bush wanted to get through Congress? Are the Republicans feeling the heat as the '06 elections come near?
It seems to me like there are some cracks showing in the Republican ranks. Any Republican that wants to get re-elected needs to distance themselves from the growing deficit, the unending expenditures of the Perma-War on Terrorism, the debacle and deaths in Iraq, the stupidity of what Congress did in the Terri Schiavo case, the totally screwed up concept Bush has about Social Security,..etc.
The Republicans need to get some back peddling going at full speed to try to sucker Americans into supporting them again. Or they could just try the "You gotta live in fear" and "hate gays" bullshit again.

1. Bush is now a classic lame duck president
Now it's all about positioning for a wide-open 2008 nomination.

3. Yeah, but what about the Congressional votes for '06?
Do you see signs that the Republicans in Congress are backing away from all the Bush-it?

2. The real test
is when Bush goes somewhere to make a speech and the local Republican congressman is unable to appear on stage with him because of a schedule conflict or some such BS.

5. That, and the votes in Congress.
I am watching to see how many bills get passed that Bush doesn't like.

4. The sweater has some loose threads.
And as everybody knows, when one pulls on a loose thread things start to unravel. So let's start pulling at the threads.

7. I'm doing my best to pull and yank every thread I can.
Let's watch what happens and be ready to remind every independent and Republican we can that Bush has been up to no good.

6. 06 elections and Bush ratings play a major role in how repugs
do their thinking with each passing month, Iraq, economy, social security
medicare, stem cell research etc. Would you go down with a sinking ship?

Bush thought it would be a keen idea dealing the boomers a get your drug discount card Sept/15/05 - no need to wait for 2006?

If the public was ever told the truth on what's really going on in Iraq republican support would be certain to fade.

9. They are such vermin...
These rats deserve to go down with their ship. They supported him through all of the bonehead decisions that have gotten us into the many messes we're in today, and they need to be held accountable. F..k them all. Repugs deserve whatever they get for putting party before everything else.

12. I agree. Let Frist re-arrange the furniture on the Titanic while the
lifeboats are filling up with Republicans who either have a conscience or are seeing the writing on the wall with the issues you mention and 2006 approaching.
