an interesting thought occured to me tonight. if condi ran for pres, would the extreme right back her up?? i'm talking about the religious zealots and other general crazies on the right. it just seems to me that they would have a hard time supporting a woman in a bid for the presidency. any thoughts??

2. Even though Condi is a neocon apologist for the Bush regime, |
|
I suspect there are an awful lot of redneck freepers who'd have a real tough time voting for a black woman. That deeply ingrained racism and sexism might overcome any purely ideological considerations.

she described herself as "mildly pro-choice" in an interview. So probably not.

6. NO freaking way she could win the nomination. |
|
She is
1. a woman 2. black 3. a woman 4. moderate on social issues 5. a woman 6. incapable of playing the fundy card effectively 7. a woman 8. devoid of the common touch 9. a woman 10.black
Try to imagine her in a seriously red state....

8. Look at Blanco v Jindal in 2002 in LA |
|
A state that has been trending Republican for a long time.
The biggest reason for Jindal's loss was probably the fact that he was Indian.
My opinion is that the hicks that just couldn't pull the lever for a forener' probably pushed Blanco over the top.

9. Depends who her opponent is.... |
|
If the media whores pressure the Democrats into nominating Hillary Clitnon, the right-wing will come out in droves to vote against Hillary - - even if it is pulling the lever for Rice!!!
If the Dems nominate a moderate Southerner, Rice would have a much harder time in a head-to-head matchup.
It's a moot point, though; because Rice has publicly stated she has no interest in running for president whatsoever.

Republicans don't like black folk except to have one or two around to prove you are the "party of inclusion."
