Saw Buchanan on Imus. He beleives that anti-war sentiment is growing and that the war will drag on because he sees no way out soon. He thinks this will hurt repugs who could lose their control in 2006.

He believes within the next 6 months, an anti-war candidate will emerge, like Eugene McCarthy, heading toward 2008.

Here's a reminder of the brave (and correct,IMO) senators who stood by principle and voted against this horror back in October, 2002:

Akaka - HI
Bingaman NM
Boxer - CA
Byrd - WV
Jeffords - VT
Kennedy - Ma
Chafee RI
Conrad ND
Corzine NJ
Dayton MN
Leahy VT
Levin MI
Durbin IL
Feingold WI
Graham FL
Inouye HI
Mikulski MD
Murray WA
Reed RI
Sarbanes MD
Stabenow MI
Wellstone MN (MHRIP)
Wyden OR
And Jay Rockefeller who later saw the light

And then the big names who voted YES (for whatever reason)
Clinton
Kerry
Biden

4. Yes. He was prez wasn't he? Hmmm. maybe that is what
Buchanan had in mind -- let them pick someone who will lose big time. Although, he has spoken out against Iraq invasion once we found no WMDs

2. The name that stands out for me is BOXER...
Graham has retired, Byrd is too old, Wellstone (MHRIP) is not amoung us and a number of others like Sarbanes is getting up in years for 2008.

7. Out of that group exactly how many had any chance of losing their seat?
Only Wellstone. That's why Wellstone is a hero.

The rest? They just did what every other Democrat COULDN'T do.

I know where my support won't go.

Wellstone's first and last votes -
No to Iraq War I = No to Iraq War II

The little people of the word want peace.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
